from www.adultcybermart.com – I predicted that Jenna Jameson would have her ears pinned back in the lawsuit filed against her www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=51672 and that seems to be where things are headed in this episode of Chicago Law.
Months ago I also predicted there’d be a “schism” in the adult industry. I think we just saw it developing this week, and it’s over the .XXX Domains issue.
I’ve been referring to the whole concerted ICM effort to suck the industry dry like a wet-vac and that’s the kind of language Manwin used this week [“extortion” was the word] in filing a lawsuit against ICM Registry. Digital Playground joined in the suit.
This presents a very interesting development. On one side you have two of the biggest studios in the business opposed diametrically to what Stuart Lawley stands for.
On the other side you have AVN, XBIZ, Stormy Daniels, Nina Mercedez and Exxxotica Expo all playing Marcus Welby MD, telling us to say aaaaaah as they feed the industry the bitter .XXX pill to swallow.
I know Diane Duke must be smiling. On the FSC blog Duke, an ardent opponent of the .XXX pig-in-a-poke, writes: “In their lawsuit, Manwin and Digital Playground bring home the points that FSC has stressed all along. Through .XXX, ICM is engaging in unfair, monopolistic business practices that not only harms adult businesses but also end users and the internet as a whole. I applaud Manwin and Digital Playground for their insight and leadership.”
Duke needed to hear news like this. Yesterday we looked at her cards [Read the story here].
Right in the middle of this scrum is Fabian Thylmann owner of Manwin and the new Mr. Big of the adult entertainment industry. And that’s exactly what the Tarot Cards have to say in depicting Thylmann.
Only they liken him more to a supreme innovator, a pillar of technological wisdom, a Pharaoh of Egypt and the Indiana Jones of new porn adventure.
Blessed with the Midas touch, we however find Thylmann to be a very solitary, introverted individual. Quite a contradiction when you think of it. The Midas touch doesn’t work in the matters of the heart it seems. The love arena is just not Thylmann’s bailiwick and he attracts spoiled brats and drama queens.
Actually, Thylmann, from what I see in his cards, is a very nice, quiet guy who just needs better PR to tell his story. He is not the greatest judge of character, either.
In fact, if he hasn’t already learned the lesson, Thylmann will discover that the only person he can trust is himself.
As if the Playboy online acquisition wasn’t startling enough, with Thylmann at the helm, Manwin/Brazzers will be announcing one new highly visible project after another this coming year.
Thylmann needs to really sort things out during the month of April [I think this is where the shit hits the fan], and August will be a particularly good month for him. By this time next year Thylmann will be sitting exactly where he wants to be. If that means owning most of the adult business, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.
The lawsuit will certainly go in his favor. In fact, it may be over before it begins. My impression is that a book is also being written about Thylmann as we speak, or that there’ll be an announcement shortly to that effect.
For all his success, Thylmann however does have an Achilles heel. It may actually come in the form of a foot or ankle fracture, but there’s already a development within the company [the “shit hitting the fan” in April] that will play out in future months that may prove embarrassing to Thylmann.
It’s something he can’t or won’t see coming, and a partnership or trust will be severed because of it. Hence, what was once a promising situation, will turn out to be a major disappointment.
Stomach problems are also indicated for Thylmann, and he needs to guard against physical exhaustion. He’ll also have to change the prescription on his glasses.
This may sound crazy, but I see Thylmann buying a racehorse if he hasn’t already done so.
