Porn Valley- The line on Chasey Lain has always been great eyes, great thighs. I was happy to see that she still had all four intact- and in marvelous condition to boot- when I caught up with her at Straight Up studios Tuesday morning. Lain was shooting a project for Cherry Boxx and Rick Davis. Looked like Lain was playing a genie. There’s a lot of genies and genie movies been going around in the business lately and Lain’s genie made some splooge magically appear on the still photog’s leg during the course of her sex scene with Cheyne Collins. Lain just broke up. But break up, apparently, is not a part of the Collins story. He tells me he’s been together with wife Chennin Blanc for 18 years, 8 of which they’ve weathered in the adult business.

And quite successfully- as well as Lain who should be dead by now judging from all the rumors about her being 85 pounds and on every drug the pharmaceutical industry apparently has to offer.

Lain was also reported OD’d by AVN during the last AEE show and I thought she looked remarkably fit for a corpse. We talked about some of those stories. The last time I interviewed Chasey face-to-face was her first day in the business.

“Dear God,” she remembers. Lain had just signed a contract with Wicked Pictures and was shooting The Original Wicked Woman.

Gene: Ever think about that first day…

Lain: Sure, and the middle day and yesterday.

Lain was brand new to shooting movies but had been doing photo shoots for Hustler, High Society and Cheri prior to that. “I did my first movie when I was 21,” she says. “I started dancing at 18. I was familiar with the business.” Lain had offers from other adult movie companies. “But Steve Orenstein was so great I went with Wicked,” she states. “I’m glad I did.” Lain liked the idea of the smart marketing and personal attention she would get as a Wicked girl. “And he’s such a great guy. How can you say no.”

Lain began dancing while still attending college in Florida. I asked if that was the usual put yourself through school routine. Lain said school was already paid for but it meant extra money. “I broke my shoulder blade in a car wreck.” Lain had various side jobs to include working in hospitality management in hotels and bars. “I had been working in bars on North Carolia- there you’re allowed to bar tend earlier than usual.” Lain’s roommate was dancing.

“She had been dancing for a long time so after the car wreck I needed money. And she always came home with a ton of money.”

Lain said getting naked in front of a bunch of a guys didn’t matter too much to her. “Not really. I had been bartending and hosting in clubs and promotions and contests- and a bikini bar,” she states. Lain was very wild growing up. “My uncle was chief of police and still is chief of police.”

I asked if she was a credit to his uniform. “No- I’m not even sure he was,” she laughs riotously. “If I remember correctly my grandmother had to buy his file back from the governor so he could become chief of police.”

Lain also has some interesting historical blood running through her great body as well. “My great-great- grandfather is Henry Clay.” I noted that Clay is a very important historical figure. “He ran for presidency of the United States five times,” says Lane.

I asked if she was constantly reminded of her bloodline. “Of course,” she smiles. Lane notes that her mother’s father was some big grand poobah with the Masons. “My grandmother was Eastern Star. I was raised in the Masonic Lodge.”

I assumed then that Lain knew the secret handshake and wondered if she saw National Treasure as yet. “I didn’t see it,” she says. “I lived it.”

“But you know where the Masonic treasure is,” I tell her. “I’m not allowed to talk about it,” she giggles. “Nobody will talk about it. After a certain age I wasn’t allowed upstairs at the Masonic Lodge anymore. When I was little, I was allowed. But they don’t worship the devil like everybody says!”

Being a wild kid, Lain remembers her first sexual experience at age 13. “It was at a buddy of mine’s house that we hung out with in high school. His parents were always out of town. The guy I dated- I met him in eighth grade and dated him up to college.” Asked the circumstances of her first tryst with the guy who was two grades ahead of her, Lain describes it as being “sad”.

“Shit, I was begging. I was in love. You know when you got it bad. Bad!” Asked if she had matured early, Lain had a great reply. “I don’t know if I’ve matured yet!” I also wondered if she was a 13 year-old version of a smoking porn goddess.

“I was a mini-me,” she replies. Asked what made the whole thing sad, Lain said, “It was two pops and I’m not sure if it even was a squirt! It was his first time, too. You know how it is when you’re young.”

I told Lain I was too old to remember being young. When asked about the circumstances of the break up, Lain’s not sure that there ever was one. “I still see him when I go home. I love him to death.”

“How did he react when you became I stripper?” I asked. “I’m just normal to him,” Lain replies. “It’s something I did, done, do. It doesn’t come up in conversation.”

Lain said her first time on a porn set wasn’t much different to her than a set of a photo shoot. “Except you have cameras rolling.” Lain never really considers herself having left the business at any time. “I just wasn’t shooting as much. I took out time to have a son and I was out of the country shooting regular movies. I shot a horror film.

“Did you shoot a nude shower scene?” I ask. Lain said no but remembered doing something akin in the porn flick House on Chasey Lain. “It was a rendition of Psycho. It was a great scene.” Lain explains how she got all padded up to do a stunt that required her rolling down cement stairs. “I come down at the bottom and my eyes are open. It looks so real. And I did the nude shower scene. It was like the remake of Psycho. It was pretty much right on the money.”

Lain also shot a mainstream horror flick in Quebec with Richard Grieco called Samhain. “There was a lot of other movies done on this story,” she says. “But in England there was a group of cannibals and they would live in caves outside the city and would rob the people going to and from the village and there was a bunch of incest. The family grew and they came out deformed, freaks. I guess there was 20 or 30 of them. The town called them monsters but I guess they were just poor inbreds. Anyway they got a lynch mob and killed them. There’s been stories that maybe one or two escaped. But no one really knows. This was back in the horse and buggy era. It’s cool. I get chopped in half and it takes three guys to work the animatronic body. They pick me out of the ditch and the lower half of my body comes off and my intestines and everything falls out. My still beating heart is over there.”

“I guess you could be a scream queen if you wanted to,” I suggest. “Maybe- hire me,” says Lain who’s been in a number of mainstream flicks including Spike Lee’s He Got Game; and Demon Knight: Tales from the Crypt. “I did one for Adam Rifkin called Denial,” she adds. Lain was also in Orgasmo and also boasts a healthy body of music videos as well. Lain said her porn career was never a problem in landing those jobs.

“Actually that’s how they found me,” she says. “They knew I wouldn’t have a problem on the set if things got a little risque.” Lain gets pretty much naked in her mainstream appearances. “But I don’t have a problem with it, you know what I mean, so it’s less headaches for them . They don’t have any whining actresses.”

Today’s shoot was Lain’s first for Cherry Boxx. “Maybe Kevin [Beech] will make it an exclusive [contract,” she says. “We’re going to see. There’s possibilities. We’re just throwing ideas around right now. I don’t know if there’s been a final decision. I don’t know what we’re going to do yet.”

Lain had several contract renewals with Wicked then managed a situation where she worked for both Wicked and VCA simultaneously. “I was under contract to both and when those ran out, I was over at Vivid and have been with Vivid ever since. I did work them for a very long time,” says Lain whose deal with Vivid is she’s there if they want her to work for them.

“But there’s also been a lot of companies that I’ve had the opportunity to work with and that I know very well from just being around all these years. There were projects that I wanted to do but couldn’t because of my contract limitations. But it’s kind of cool now that I get to do a project with this person or that person.”

Lain didn’t sound like she had any particular favorite director. “They’re all great that I’ve worked with; they’re all different in their own ways. It all depends what we’re trying to shoot.” According to Lain, Jason Sullivan has been her ongoing cameraman. “He shot almost all my Vivid stuff. He’d probably be my absolute favorite because I’m so used to working with him. We work good together. I just shot with him a few weeks ago.”

Asked if she follows the Internet, Lain says she stays away from it at all costs. “We’re forbidden to even look at it or we’d be in the office crying every single day! Steve Hirsch over at Vivid forbid us to look at it. He was, like, don’t come to my office crying. You’re not allowed to look at it. Someone go confiscate every girl’s computer. Else there’d be dead bodies in trunks everywhere!”

Lain’s well aware that she’s been the subject of many gossip items. “It’s like where do they come up with this shit?”I asked Lain about what happened at AEE and the story that she OD’d.

“It wasn’t me,” she says. “There was another girl at the show that Digital Playground had got in. My badge was from Pleasure Productions that said Chasey Lain. But there was another girl that Digital Playground had gotten into the show and her badge said Tiffany Chase. My real name is Tiffany. They assumed it was me.”

“I heard you really got bent out of shape over that,” I tell Lain. “I was livid,” Lain replied. “I was dead, supposedly. I have a six year old child. They had heard before I had heard. And so my son’s father was calling. I was crossing the state line back into California when one of the escort agencies I work for in New York called and said did you know you were dead? I said no. But Tim Connelly over at AVN, I went straight to his office. They did print a retraction.”

Lain said at the time of the incident she was with Heather Hunter and Hunter’s manager. “They were doing a live promo at a club and I was with them at the time- on video. It’s documented. And Circus Circus is where all the Pleasure girls were staying,” added Lain noting that the news story had her staying at The Venetian. “And so they [AVN] didn’t look into it. They didn’t check. They just took somebody’s word for it that it was me. It didn’t even involve me. I’m dead, yeah. I couldn’t believe it.”

“I also got the impression from hearing all the rumors about you that you were down to 65 pounds and were strung out,” I tell Lain.

“I wasn’t even in the country,” says Lain who was shooting movies, mostly in Canada. “I didn’t even address any of that. Now I’m back, and I’m addressing it.”
