Porn Valley- One look at her and it’s pretty obvious why Panther’s on the set of Mitch Spinelli’s Big Fuckin’ Tits. Panther, who’s repped by LA Direct Models, has been with the agency for four months and in the business about a year. Convenience and money are two reasons she cites for getting into the industry. That’s because Panther’s currently a college student studying Economics.
“I needed some more money for school and got into this my sophomore year in college,” she says, noting that she’s in an honors program. In this industry that usually means yes, your honor; no, your honor. But this doesn’t seem to be the case with her. In high school, Panther was very studious, very shy, and very much to herself, she says. Given that, Panther admits that her being in the porn business would seem to be a total contradiction.
“It is,” she laughs. “Some times it’s hard because people from back home find out and they’re like we knew you from high school- you’re different. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.”
And people from back home are finding out about her being in porn. But Panther will address the issue only to the people that matter. “It’s just like a business,” she says. “It’s just like a job. You have different hours. It’s ‘funner’ people and more money.” Her folks, however, don’t know she’s in the business. And she doesn’t intend on them finding out.
Panther was an early breast bloomer and had them already in the fourth grade. “It was horrible,” she says. “I didn’t understand the boob-thing until I got way older.” Panther dressed like the other girls. “I didn’t want to wear a bra- I was rebellious towards the whole getting boobs and being a girl. I was a real tomboy.”
I asked her about the first guy who felt her up. Panther said it was as she was getting into high school. “It was my best friend’s brother. She went into the shower and went to sleep. We did our thing. We also had sex. I thought everybody else was doing it. It was time. But sex didn’t start getting fun until I got into college. More people were turning me on to different things. The younger guys pound away and the older guys in college have more of a technique.”
Between money she’s getting from the government for school, Panther says that and her car are being taken care of by porn. She started contacting people on the Internet and did some small shoots. “Independent stuff,” she says. “I tried to make my way without any guidance. That was pretty hard. People take advantage of you. But then I got with L.A. Direct and it’s really professional now.”
She almost expected people to run rough shod over her. “That’s L.A.,” she laughs. “That’s the big city. You’re nice and they’re like, can we take advantage of you.”
In the beginning she didn’t know how much a scene was worth and people were also taking advantage of that, she says. “I didn’t ask where the video was going and I didn’t check on any of my work. I was, like, can I get paid now? I didn’t know that a boy-girl scene was worth at least this much and on and on. I was getting taken by people. I also had a bad experience where I was in pain for a week. It was a really well endowed guy. And, to me, after a certain point, it just gets nasty. He hurt. I was almost crying. I didn’t like him. He came on the set smoking. I was, like, ugh, total turn off. You can’t fake it when you don’t like someone.”
On the other hand, Panther likes working with Lexington Steele. “He’s very nice to me- I like the guys who are very nice, like Mark Ashley. Or Mr. Pete. They’re just really nice guys. I don’t like the ones who just genuinely dislike their job. There are all sorts of girls and guys who get in there and you can tell they don’t like a black girl. It’s really annoying.” It’s happened to her, but Panther says she’ll do her scenes and let it go. “It’s okay.”
She doesn’t do anal but is trying to get someone to help her with it. “The person I date is not really good at it,” she says. “I’m trying to get somebody who knows because if I start doing it in the business, I’ll get pounded to death. So I don’t want to get in there and have problems. Maybe at the end of this year I’ll try. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. Very painful.”
Asked why she decided on her porn name, Panther says she’d been thinking of changing it. “It follows me around- Ron Hightower thought it was a cute name. But I have so many scenes now that I think I’ll keep it. If she were to change, it would be to something sweeter, she says. “I was thinking about Alicia Love. Something nice and sweet because that’s my personality. Panther seems so much harsher and everyone expects this really dominant woman. I’m not.”
Panther said she enjoyed her first threeway during Spring Break this year. “It was just crazy,” she said. “I’d never imagine all that stuff going on at once. I was extremely bad. It was a very nice week for me. I had a lot of guys that I was dating so I had the rotation every single night. Then this one night there was this couple that was begging me- you got to try this. We had a few drinks and it was crazy. Then I had another one after that with a Puerto Rican chick. That was the wildest one because she was really into it. She had just got her boobs done and her man was really into boobs. So he was taking all these pictures. This was outside the business. I also did one scene that week, and I was in pain for awhile but it didn’t seem to affect me when I really wanted to do it with somebody else.”
Panther continues to work in the business by going to school at night and shooting porn in the morning. “I was working two jobs before and doing this and going to school full time. That was crazy.”
Panther is asked if a degree in Economics is her way of eventually running the Federal Treasury. “I wish,” she laughs. “Maybe I’ll just go into investment banking or mortgage lending. I tried being an intern stockbroker and I hated it. I was making like $8.50 an hour to manage peoples’ multi-million dollar accounts. Or telling people who don’t know how to invest in stocks how to invest. I was, like, oh, this sucks. I can’t do it. I’ll just wait until I get out of college and find a real job. Even though I wouldn’t know how to adjust after getting money like this.”
Panther says she loves the porn business. “I like the schedules- I like being able to do homework and spend time with my family and spend time with friends and chill out. A lot of people have been trying to get me to hang out more, but I feel like if I separate myself, I should be okay. Because this can suck you in and I don’t want to be here for that long. I don’t want to get dependent. I can see a cycle.”
