Porn Valley- Over the weekend, we ran an excerpt of an interview we did with Patricia Kennedy https://adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=3920
During our chat, Kennedy tells me that she’s been living on the east coast for a couple of years now. “I was working in fashion, designing,” she says. “I went to fashion school and majored in design.”
Kennedy tells me her tryst with the fashion world ended in February. “Because fashion sucks- it doesn’t suck, it’s just that you’re dealing with a bunch of catty gay men who hate women and are designing clothes for them.” Kennedy said she’d like to do her own fashion line.
During some preliminary e-mail correspondence, Kennedy told me that she had had a bad week. I asked what that was all about. According to Kennedy, Jack Pointe, who used to write for AVN, had been ragging on her.
“He posted something so mean and nasty about me,” she said. “He called me an old hag and that the only way I looked nice is when I piled on the make-up. I know I wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. That’s fine. But that was just mean and who the fuck are you and why would you say something like that?”
Kennedy says she posted something back about it being so easy to hide behind a keyboard.
“Then he started talking about how he met me 30 or more times,” Kennedy relates. “I’m thinking who the fuck are you? Send me a picture. Then he started talking about how he reviewed me and some of the reviews he did on me weren’t so nice, blah-blah-blah. Basically he said I think you’re a really nice person and I thought your scenes were good. But I just think your ugly.
“Dude, anybody who was ever that rude to me, I always approached them and just said something to them. I’ve been known to do that. I know I was never AVN’s favorite. I understand that and I don’t care. But I said you’re just being fucking mean and I don’t understand it. I said was I mean to you when I met you? He’s, like, no, you were always nice. So I’m going why the fuck are you being such an asshole? And he just had this whole holier-than-thou attitude because he worked for AVN for so long and that he knows everything and everybody.
“I said, you know what? People wonder why these girls get in the business and a month later they don’t even look like the same person because they’ve gone under the knife and changed everything about them. I said if you don’t like how someone looks, that’s fine. But just to be such an asshole and say what you said. He’s like, you must be 43 now.
“I go, dude, I’m going to be 37. And he’s I guess you wouldn’t lie about that. I’m like it’s so funny that you seem to know so much about the fucking adult business but you don’t know when my birthday was and how old I was when I got in it? Fuck off. Know what he says? He’s like I have offers at least a couple times a year from people who want me to run their companies. Whatever. I’ve been so out of the loop for such a long time then have to deal with his bitter ass self. Finally I was, like, I’m dropping this. I said I’m not even continuing this conversation with you because it doesn’t matter.
“I really don’t give a fuck what you think about me or what I look like or anything else,” Kennedy continues. “Because, honestly, you don’t know me. You only know what you saw in the movies. He wouldn’t tell me his real name. That fucking asshole.” Kennedy said she was floored by that exchange. “It never used to be like that. It’s kind of insane.” Kennedy feels the same way about some of the scenes women are now doing. “You can’t tell me you actually really enjoy doing that?”
Asked if she kept up with the HIV developments, Kennedy said she’d talk to Bridgette Monroe who’d fill her in. “I went through two of those in my time. I went through the first one when we tried doing all condom. Of course anyone who went condom got blacklisted. I went through two of those HIV scares when I was active and then there was another scare when I was in production.”
The last time Kennedy did a hardcore movie was 1996. “Except I did some bondage-stuff when I was doing production,” she tells me. “I was doing production around 1999-2000 and I did some softcore bondage. That was it.” Kennedy mentions that neither does she have kids nor has she been married. “I do not have a boyfriend but I do see someone,” she states. “Doing this, I’ve always been, like, you can’t have someone serious.”
Kennedy describes the industry opening up like a pit of hell where everyone and anyone now gets in.
“The more people you have, the more risks you have,” she said. Kennedy moans and groans about internal anal cum shots being so de rigeur. “I never did anal without a condom. It just blows me away. And also just to read about the girls dissing each other out. We had our little dramas about who was pissed off at who, but this is crazy. It’s like wrestling.”
Another thing Kennedy finds among today’s crop of female performers is the desperation. “You can just see it in posts and e-mails. I’ve seen levels of people just being so desperate to be a porn star. These girls are desperate to be famous. It’s really shocking to me and kind of crazy.”
Kennedy admits she got into the business for the money. “Madison got me in,” she says. “We were friends way before she got into the business. We were roommates in Atlanta. She moved out to L.A. probably a year before I came out there. At first I was, oh my God, I can’t believe she’s doing something like that. Then a mutual friend of ours went out and visited her and said she was doing really good. And I was tired of living in Atlanta. I was originally from California and I wanted to move back. I called her up. We talked. She said come on out and I’ll help you out. The reason I got in was I wanted to change my life. I wanted to come back out to the west coast. I wanted to get away from dancing in the south.
“But I enjoyed it,” Kennedy continues. “The first year- 1990- when I was in the industry was one of the best times of my life. It was one of the happiest times. I really liked everybody I worked with. I used to go to barbecues at Jim Enright’s. It was more of a family-type thing. It was a really good time. It was fun. Now everyone’s in competition and against each other. And it’s the shock value of what people are doing. I didn’t know that was possible. I was talking to Mike South and said to him, the stuff that I did in my movies was stuff I’d consider doing in my private life.
“It was stuff I enjoyed doing. I’m not going to say all of it because, depending on who you were working for, sometimes it was, oh God, I’m in hell. I would never, for instance, consider having two dicks in my ass let alone three. What? Ow? My butt took a banging when I was in the business. I really like doing d.p.s but some of this? There’s just no way in hell. And I can’t believe some of these people actually enjoy doing this. I could be wrong.”
Kennedy says her body took a considerable beating while she was in the business. “Anal is not a very good thing,” she concludes. “Your body can only take so much. I look at some of these girls, how they take it and it amazes me. I didn’t start feeling some of the effects until I got older. Then it was like, holy crap.
“I don’t think I could do anal a lot now,” Kennedy concludes. “You get hemorrhoids and stuff. That happened when I was in the business doing it. And I started doing anal a lot. Some peoples’ bodies can take it, and some can’t. And I started having difficulties when I was in the business and I still wreak the havoc. It’s not like I need an operation, but still…and when you get older your body changes. The flaws that you had when you’re younger, they tend to get worse.”
Kennedy says she acquiredt problems with her ankles thanks to dancing. “But I’m in pretty damn good shape considering.” Kennedy was also in an accident a couple of years ago which messed up her back.
“So that bothers me now but that didn’t have a lot to do with the industry. But if I was dancing now I don’t think I could do it like I used to.”
Kennedy keeps up with the news by reading sites like adultfyi.com and mentions that it’s no secret that she’s now “touring” with an escort agency.
“That’s how I got back into the loop,” she explains. “I want to start a clothing line and it costs a LOT of money. And they were talking to me about it. I went and met with The Agency and I really like the way they portray the girls. And because of the costs people have to pay, you kind of weed out the riff-raff. It’s not your average Joe Blow. From that they started a Yahoo group for my fans to get in touch. And I’m doing my own website, www.patriciakennedyxxx.com . Right now it’s in construction.
“From that, that’s how I came across Jack Pointe- on one of the Yahoo group-things,” Kennedy continues. “He’s like God on this group because he’s convinced all these guys that he’s just God in this industry. These people are so fucking gullible when it comes to the industry because most of these people don’t have any contact with it because they live in the middle of Bumblefuck.
People were asking, we hear that Patricia’s on tour now. Anybody got any opinion on her and that’s when he opened his big fat mouth. I said, dude, you could have said you didn’t find me attractive and I would have been okay with it. But to call me an ugly hag? That was kind of harsh.”
Kennedy says she has guys asking her all the time if they can book directly through her. “I’m like no. It’s a safety-issue. I don’t know who you are.” Kennedy says it costs $1500 to book her.
