from www.tokyoreporter.com – Former actress and stripper Minako Komukai will make her debut next month in the adult video business, reports Zakzak (Sept. 10).

AV producer Alice Japan will release the “AV Actress Minako Komukai” DVD — described as containing “super hardcore” content — on October 14. The 26-year-old Komukai will have two sex scenes in the 120-minute film (3,990 yen).

Zakzak reports that Alice Japan already employs top talents like Minami Kojima and Aoi Tsukasa and likens the debut to that of former AKB48 member Rina Nakanishi (performing under the name Riko Yamaguchi), who entered the AV biz in August of last year.

Mukai was arrested for the second time earlier this year for stimulant drug violations. Last year, she starred in the SM pic “Hana to Hebi 3” (Flower and Snake 3).

Rival AV label Muteki makes its name by recruiting former entertainers, says a member from within the AV industry. “But Mukai’s arrest record made it impossible for them to go after her,” the source explains. “(AV label) Soft On Demand and Alice Japan are now engaged in something of a war for talent.”

Soft On Demand currently employs top actresses like Saori Hara. So Zakzak wonders why the label did not bid the estimated 30 million yen for Mukai’s services.

“In March of this year, Hara retired abruptly,” explains the same AV insider. “In January of last year, Soft On Demand released a nude Komukai DVD that was received well. However, her image has dropped after the drug violations. They were hesitant to make a move.”

Zakzak predicts that sales of the DVD will be driven by curious fans, estimating that 100,000 copies will be shipped, with two more DVDs set for release in the future.
