That helped. But mostly it was my own decision.” So far so good, says Del Toro who hasn’t experienced wood problems as yet. “I’m pretty healthy and being in this business is about 90% mental and 10% physical. If you’re strong, mentally, you can do it.”

As opposed to the walk in the park perceptions that most fans entertain of being a male performer, Del Toro said it’s completely different. “The scene fully edited lasts maybe fifteen minutes but the actual scene lasts a couple of hours. You have to be a pretty good performer and keep it up obviously for a couple of hours. There are some directors who shoot all day so you’ve got to be tough. It’s not all fun and games. But in the final edited copy they make the guys look like kings.”

Asked if he’s taken Viagra, Del Toro said he’s taken it once. “It did help. I wasn’t feeling well that day. That will definitely help you.” But to Swami’s question as to whether he takes drugs, Del Toro said no. “So it [Viagra] really worked fast on me. But I’m not in the habit of taking anything else.”

Asked if there was a bond among Canadian performers of whom he is one, Del Toro said there are a few in the business but didn’t proceed further with the question.

On the question of a website, Del Toro said he was at least a month away from something like that. Del Toro also addressed some questions pertinent to dating outside the business. “If they’re okay with it [his working in the industry]; then I’m okay with it.” Del Toro said if he was meeting someone outside the business and it happened that they went on a couple of dates, then he’d more than likely fess up to his performer’s status. “Then we’d go from there. Right now I’m not dating anyone. I’m just working.”

Asked why he went with Exotic Star Models, Del Toro said he met one of the owners, Shelby Stevens who told him about the company. “That’s how we started.” At present, Del Toro said he’s very happy freelancing and with the work that the agency has secured on his behalf. “I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing and see how that goes,” he said.Del Toro went on to describe himself as an easy going guy. “Nothing bothers me.”

Swami brought up an issue about female performers being around less longer than the males but more apt to acquire popularity faster. “I try not to think about that,” said Del Toro. “Obviously people watching adult films are the guys so women will get in touch more with the guys. But if you look at it from a performance point of view, guys definitely have the tougher job.”

Del Toro was asked to give an example of a tough day on the set. “You get on the set and you’re not the first one up. You get a call time and they’re running behind schedule. Sometimes you get a call time like 6 o’clock and you might be there for six hours or a whole day, just waiting for your scene to be shot. You just have to be patient. I know there are some people who get upset. But that’s life. I get on set. I’m very professional. I get along with everyone and when they tell me it’s my turn, hey, I do my job.”

Del Toro’s immediate concerns, according to him, are working on establishing his reputation and getting his corporation set up. “And I’m just enjoying the California weather.”
