I have been asked over and over and over as of late if the HIV things scares me. To be honest? I could care less. It does not scare me and I have not spent more then 2 full seconds thinking about it. Let us not forget adult film making is our JOB and JOBS come with certain risks. Nearly 800 soldiers have been killed in Irag in the last year, several hundred police officers will die this year and several hundred electricians will be burnt to s crisp. All of those peopel take risks way beyond the risks we take making adult movies and they do if for a mere fraction of the pay we get.
Let’s stay focused on really scary things like war, and driving a car. We are all worked over like 10 HIV cases in the last decade in comparison to the thousands of people making adult movies and the million or scenes that were shot. Face it, working at Burker King and dealing with flare ups is more risky and they get paid a year when we make in 2 weeks.
Soldiers, cops and electricians die instantly, people with HIV live healthy for 20 or more years now. Lets keep our focus on realy dangerous stuff and forget about this HIV thing. I know, I know, HIV is sex related so it is more interesting, but let us think like educated people. I will take HIV any day over having my body blown apart on some fucking battlefield in a country I had not heard of until a few years ago.
I know several people involved in this, like Darren James and Jessica Dee. I have worked with both and feel badly for both. Both are grown adults and knew the risks. Both are dealing with it just fine. Both will be just fine.
AIM will sort this out and we will get back to work and that is that. Time to move the fuck on and stop making this a bigger deal then it is.
