Although Reina Leone made the announcement last week on KSEX, www.ksexradio.com, the San Francisco Chronicle today gives the official dope behind Leone’s resignation as a San Francisco cop.

SF Chronicle: Rising star: Kelly Francisco — the female half of the cop couple caught moonlighting as porn stars — has decided to turn in her star.

San Francisco Sheriff Mike Hennessey said Francisco — an institutional police officer with the Sheriff’s Department who goes by the stage name Rena Leon — went on leave after she and her night job were very publicly outed.

Since then, she has appeared at two X-rated film conventions down south.

This past week, after mulling over her prospects, Francisco decided to resign from the Sheriff’s Department.

As for the official react: “I think both she and the department are more comfortable with her being out of uniform,” Hennessey said.
