Porn Valley- I get a call from Sonny Probono, porn lawyer and graduate of The Columbia School of Torts, not to be confused with the Columbia School of Broadcasting.
Sonny tells me he was in contact this weekend with Clemenza who used to stooge for me back when I had another website. He tells me Clemenza, other than a recurring case of the clap, is doing fine and is now living comfortably in Nutley, New Jersey.
For no particular reason other than as a social ice breaker, Sonny tells me he took a deposition from Clemenza and gave him a lie detector test. And here’s what Clemenza had to say, according to Sonny:
“You know how I feel about Evil Angel,” Clemenza says in his statement. “The night Rob Black and Lizzie Borden got that Free Speech award from AVN? John and Karen Stagliano walked out of the room in protest.
“Remember how John talked all kinds of shit about Rob in the press and how Rob made bad movies and should have gotten busted? Well look at what happened to him now. Karma, and now he’s got a bus driver handling his case.”
[Probono swears this is not his own comment but Clemenza’s.]
Clemenza, who also used to be one of Black’s bookmakers, wanted to clear up several other time lines regarding Rob’s former relationship with Tricia Devereaux who went on to become Mrs. Karen Stagliano.
“Maybe few people realize that Rob moved out to California with Karen but they broke up way before he began Extreme Associates,” states Clemenza.
“Rob was still at Elegant Angel and they had already parted company when Rob began dating Nikki, the receptionist at Elegant.
“Devereaux was totally out of the picture by the time Rob started up Extreme with Tom Byron, Van Damage and Tiffany Mynx. And you remember that debacle?”
“Extreme was already in high gear and Devereaux, in the mean time, had gone on to work for John Bowen. She had already contacted HIV by the time she hooked up with Stagliano which was some time in 2001.”
“An interesting footnote to porn history,” continues Clemenza, “is the fact that Black wrote Miscreants with Devereaux in mind and was going to cast her. But they had busted up because Devereaux was fucking Black’s best friend at the time, Fat Andy.
“So Stephanie Swift got the part instead thanks to Black’s association with Ruben [now using the directing name Andre Madness] who was casting movies for him. Another girl, Alyssa Love, was supposed to have gotten the Devereaux role, but a switcheroo was made.
“Black had been adamant about giving Love the part but Swift wanted the role. She came in to talk to Rob while begging and actually crying for the part. Swift wound up winning a Best Actress award. Not for the impromptu crying, but for the actual movie. Black got Director of the Year.”
