In the early 1970’s, the U.S. government seized all film reels and master tapes for Deep Throat I. Therefore all musicians and writers are unknown. In early 2004, a number of long-lost reels were discovered, giving fans a deeper glimpse into the legend of Deep Throat. After a detailed restoration by John Golden Mastering, sonic imperfections still do apply, but definite aural improvements have been made, including the conversion from mono to stereo and a considerable decrease in hiss and distortion.”

Gene adds: We all know something at least about the film which is the subject of the Brian Grazer documentary coming out in February. But we know very little about its sequel. In fact Linda Lovelace, herself, provides scant information on Deep Throat II in her autobiography, Ordeal.

Lovelace states the following: The movie [Deep Throat] was breaking records everywhere, so we spent a lot of time in Lou Perry’s office talking about the next one, Deep Throat, Part II.”

At this point Lovelace gets off the track and starts talking about Sammy Davis, Jr. A couple of pages later, she picks up her thought.

Lovelace: Suddenly there was money and the prospect of more money to come. Deep Throat, Part II would bring Chuck [Traynor] a huge chunk of money. I forget the exact amount because it wasn’t important to me; I’d never see any of it anyway.” [At this point Lovelace gets off the track again to recall her visit to the Playboy mansion and goes on for several pages about that before getting back to the subject at hand.]

Lovelace: “We stopped long enough in New York to make the second movie, Deep Throat, Part II. I still don’t understand what that movie was about bur I can tell you how it was explained to me. The central figure is a computer working for the CIA and the FBI: The computer is tired of government work and wants to make spaghetti. In the course of the movie, the computer makes love to me. Maybe you can understand why it was never released or, if it was released, why you’ve never heard of it….during the filming of Deep Throat, Part II, I became friendly with one of my co-stars, Andrea True. Andrea True was very intelligent, a college graduate, and much too smart to be doing what she did for a living. During the making of the film. she got all the porno actors together and organized them into a union. It might seem silly but they really needed a union. For most of them an eight-hour day was a step up.”
