Terrell Owens may or may not wind up with the New York Jets or the Cincinnati Bengals this week, depending which sports story you’re reading. However, some writer from New York Magazine looking for a different angle on it, brought up the Owens porno story from a couple of years ago when T.O. showed up on a Bang Bros. shoot and his photo began circulating on the Internet.
The NY Mag writer then quotes this from another site, www.deadspin.com which had this to say at the time the T.O. story broke in April, 2008:
“Yesterday, as photos of what appeared to be Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens in the background of the BangBros. com’s “Spring Break Ass” circulated, there were questions about whether or not it actually was the Terrell Owens. There were no mentions in any mainstream media outlets (except one) and the Rosenhauses were much too busy getting ready to fleece NFL teams in the draft to respond to phone calls about such matters.
I contacted the BangBros. production facilities in the hopes of getting on the phone with one of the executives of the company, but none were available. Instead, I had numerous brief, unsuccessful conversations with a woman answering the Bang Bros. phone line — a woman whose hint of a Spanish accent and street-hardened annoyance could very well land her a permanent spot on the casting couch as “receptionist at a porno production company.”
“Sir, I have no idea what you (sic) talking about. You didn’t talk to me. We have tree (sic) receptionists here. I don’t know no T.O. person.”
Fine, it could’ve been another woman I spoke with yesterday. At least, she called me “Sir.” Either way, there was nary a non-receptionist person willing to get on the phone to clarify if it actually was Terrell Owens.
But, then, late last night, the incriminating photo of Terrell Owens in the background of “Spring Break Ass” was cropped out.”
The NY Times then did a follow up with this story: T.O. and porno? That’s a no-go, according to the Dallas Cowboy wideout’s lawyer.
An attorney for Terrell Owens dispatched a cease and desist letter to a hardcore pornography website, demanding they remove a picture of the smiling superstar from their page, according to TMZ.com.
The shot was taken when Owens apparently walked into an adult photo shoot taking place in Miami’s South Beach, TMZ reported.
The beaming Owens was unaware when the snapshot was taken that it would apppear on the web or link him to the adult entertainment industry, said the two-page letter from attorney Allan M. Lerner.
Owens was further aggravated by a picture caption reading, “What do you know, another football player who does not take his offseason seriously” – and the suggestion that he was pursuing a career in the porn business.
The angry legal missive from Lerner, obtained by TMZ, charged that TheDirty.com website was trying to “disrepute and smear” Owens’ reputation by posting the “misleading and nonconsensual” picture.
“We therefore demand that you immediately remove the photographs and the references from your website, state to your public that these photographs linking Mr. Owen to porn were not done with his consent,” the letter concluded.
The picture remained on the site this morning.
