Tim Case writes: Gene: Great reportage on the Lara Roxx story these past few days. We’ve been reading with interest.
I remember we had left the L.A. area (and Ronee Blakley’s house of horrors) in 2004 the week before the entire HIV story broke…obviously still very much involved in porn, and with dozens of friends in the biz, we followed the story with great interest.
Felicia, I remember, through some as-yet-understood talent females have, insisted from the beginning that Lara Roxx was probably Patient Zero, the person who brought the virus into the industry. She felt Darren James was being railroaded. Never worked with any of the particulars, never even met any of them (other than Marissa Arroyo), but she’s insisted all along that Lara was the person who caused all the havoc, and not T.T. Boy or Darren James.
Reading that on your site today reminded me of how crazy everything was then, with all the rumors and whatnot flying around the internet. Let’s hope nothing like that happens again anytime soon. Keep up the good work.
