www.xbiz.com today confirms: Bluebird Films owner Paul Baxendale-Walker has flown the coop. In a statement posted on the studio’s BabeShows.com website, the eccentric business mogul announced that he will now focus on his newly acquired lad publication Loaded.

Baxendale-Walker, who also directed and performed in Blue Bird projects under the name of Paul Chaplin, writes on the site that he is retiring to “do other things, including, of course, steering Loaded magazine into a new generation of life.”

Baxendale-Walker purchased Loaded from Vitality Publishing earlier this year through his company MPRO. In an interview with TheGuardian.com, he let on about adding more “girls and glamour content” to the monthly and his plans to launch two Loaded TV channels, one mainstream and the other adult oriented.

“The next decade of my life will be in a totally different direction,” Baxendale-Walker said on the site. “I’m lucky that I had the opportunity to create Bluebird, and rest assured it’s in good hands. I’m equally lucky to steer into other new ventures, which involve me keeping my clothes on.”

Loaded was founded in 1994 by IPC Media and ushered in the “lad mag” style of publishing that would introduce popular periodicals such as Maxim and FHM. It was sold by IPC Media to Vitality Publishing in 2010.
