Porn Valley- Wankus had Mike South on the air Monday night after South had posted a troubling story illustrating how easy it is now to access private information about porn stars.
“It was information that was fucking crazy,” said Wankus. “The Government regulates that we have to model releases, I.D.’s and all this other shit. It’s really gotten out of control. But they’ve gotten to the point where they want to post different things and want everyone to have this information- peoples’ personal information. They want to make it almost accessible to anybody, pretty much which includes your driver’s license and social security- all that crap. Very dangerous.”
Wankus told South the information that he saw made him sick. “It made a lot of people sick,” said South. “Oddly enough it’s turned out to be a good, eye-opening and awakening story.” South said he got loads of calls from people asking him to take it down.
“What their reasoning was is that I shouldn’t be giving it any attention, that it would legitimize it.,” South went on to say. Wankus told South that was exactly what he should be doing. South said he also contacted AVN about the story.
“They have yet to write word one about it,” said South. “I think the reason is because they knew in their heart of hearts that ultimately it implicates IVD.” Wankus asked South to break the story down. South said the story involves a guy who’s real first name is Mike. “He works for IVD in their legal department.”
“A guy who works for Pleasure Productions- IVD – we didn’t know this at the time but I found out all his info today,” South continued. South said he learned that this guy using the Internet name “Atomic Punk” had access to the personal information on everybody in porn. “To make his point he posted a picture of a Hungarian performer and her ID’s.” Wankus said a picture of Tera Patrick was also posted.
“That takes balls,” said South. “Then he went on to post a list of over a thousand names of porn performers with their real names and their birthday.” A portion of what South is talking about is contained in the following post.
Atomic Punk writes on thetrollsnet: I found a better day job than the last shithole warehouse one. I work for a porn company and am the guy that gets paid to look at porn at work.
My buddy told me he used to work there and it is so morally bankrupt, etc. hahaha
I’m the guy that takes the releases and puts the names of the “performers” in the online databases so you pron addicts can know who is in them.
Here is the COOLEST thing about the job. I see the scripts, the slides where all of those online places buy them and sell pics via the web, and the BEST! I see their drivers licenses, SSN cards, passports, telephone numbers, addresses, HIV lab reports, real names, etc. It’s funny where some of them live as I see both coasts worth. A buddy from the Navy in tiny Chalfont, PA doesn’t know that he has two porn neighbors. Don’t fret, I have plans.”
South said all of this scary information is contained on the Net. “A lot of people were wanting me to pull it. I’m, like, there’s no way,” he said. “This is what we need to fight this whole 2257-thing. That was my argument all along. We’ve got the FSC testifying before Congress tomorrow [Tuesday]. This is the type of information that they need. In a way this couldn’t have come along at a better time. We’re hoping now that the FSC will at least make an attempt to make some lemonade out of it.”
South said GFY was all over the story. “By the end of the day they had everything about the guy, his wife’s name, what he’s going to name his kid; his name, his position, the attorneys, everything. I got the whole scoop on this guy.” The point was also made that almost anyone could access the same information about porn stars.”What he did was bad,” said South. “But had he put up performers addresses and social security numbers and phone numbers- that would have been infinitely worse.” Wankus said it was about time that FSC comes to life and does something about this situation.
“I’m not letting this go,” said South. “I’m holding AVN’s feet to the fire on this.” Quoting something Wankus had said, South wondered what it would take for AVN to run a story. “A girl who gets raped and murdered, then AVN will run a story on it. Except the story AVN would run is, it would give it an editors choice.” South added that if Rob Black filmed a movie of a girl being executed, AVN would call it visionary. “That’s what really disturbs me about the fucking business.” South said AVN might come out with a story two days later. “Suckling hind teat like they usually do.” South said with Fishbein out of town on his honeymoon, he went to the people at AVN in charge. “Nobody could or would make a decision.”
