Porn Valley- Put it this way. If the Jessica Jaymes I talked to Saturday was the same Jessica Jaymes that’s been on the Stern show, www.adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=6797, the Stern people must be strapping her in a chair and sedating her. The Jaymes I talked to was all over the room and by the time we finished, she had brought back travel stickers from every corner of it. I also get the impression that in our chat, Jaymes possibly wound up going places she didn’t want to go to which might have been uncomfortable for her. So I didn’t get anywhere close to the Jessica Simpson story. Besides, everyone’s vying for Jaymes’ attention at this point.
First, I ask Jaymes if she’s read some of the comments on the message boards that suggested Stern had been rude to her the last time she was on his show. www.adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=10221. Jaymes, with her hair piled up like Pebbles Flintstone, is making faces, like, no way, where did people get that impression?
Even without makeup, Jaymes is a remarkably pretty woman, and she’s fairly kicked back most of the afternoon- barefoot and jeans- with the top of her cute ass showing. Jaymes is Hustler’s contract girl, and with her, it’s Mr. Flynt this, Mr. Flynt that. There are times when Jaymes is about to slip and call him Larry, then finds the better of herself.
Jaymes remembers a pay per TV special called Can You Be a Porn Star shot at a mansion in Beverly Hills where she competed with ten other girls.
“I won the show,” Jaymes says, noting that she got something like $100,000 as the big prize. “And they’re still airing it on On Demand pay-per-view.”
Jaymes says, yeah, she did get paid that money along with a chance to do films. However Jaymes had been doing scenes before that, going back to 2001 or 2002, except they were girl-girl scenes and didn’t disqualify her from competing. “I had never done a boy-girl,” she says. Based on her winning that contest, Jaymes said Flynt wanted to hire her as a contract girl. “They said, verbatim, you are the next contract girl blah-blah-blah. Shake hands. Confetti was up in the air. I got roses as if you’re winning the Miss America of porn. I was now named the best whatever.” Jaymes thinks maybe it was within the month that she heard from Flynt about the contract and was ecstatic about the honor.
“I had never been treated more nicely,” she says. “It’s been a dream come true to be under contract with such an established company.
“Since then I’ve been on a more personal level with the Flynts,” James continues. “Mrs. Flynt, his wife, is wonderful and being on their team is really cool.” And Jaymes says Larry Flynt is one of her dearest friends. “I can honestly say Larry is good friends.”
Jaymes said there was another time when Flynt saw her at a signing with Tera Patrick and put the word out that he wanted Jaymes under contract before she signed with another company. “I was signing for Hustler in New Orleans,” she recalls. “I had the Hustler name above my head an he [Flynt] kept looking up at me, who is that girl. He’s sending his bodyguards and his people over. I was, like, Larry, it’s me. I’m Jessica Jaymes. It’s nice to meet you and the banter was back and forth in a very appropriate way.”
Jaymes also recalls when she hosted a show on Playboy TV called Totally Busted. “I was the crazy brunette on Playboy TV.” Jaymes now likens her career arc as going from the Bloods to the Crips.
“Now I’m with the Hustler side which is really phenomenal to say the least,” she smiles. “To be a part of history is so cool, being a part of history in the making. But it’s not something I want to brag to my mother about, even though I do.” Since she brought it up, I ask Jaymes about her parents and she notes, sadly, that her father recently passed away. “And my mother’s very proud of me,” states James. “She’s like if you’re going to be a bear, be a grizzly no matter what you’re doing. I’m like, mom, I’m being the grizzly.”
Right now Jaymes says she’s very happy with her life while she’s taking the big dive into the fame and fortune pool. Before she became a grizzly in a manner of speaking, Jaymes was a school teacher. “I used to teach grades 4, 5 and 6,” she says. “Had they paid me enough I probably, honestly, would not be here. I’m being honest. But now that I am here, I’m not complaining. I’m very happy with where I’m. But I did go into this direction because they didn’t pay me enough. Teachers should be the highest paid but are the lowest paid.”
Jaymes explains that she used to date a guy who owned a publishing company. “Which was an adult magazine called Playtime. It’s an adult entertainment magazine that’s been around for 12 years,” she explains. “It’s only in Arizona right now.” Jaymes notes that she’s originally from Anchorage, Alaska. “But I had been in Arizona for a long time and I’m now residing in L.A., for all you stalkers out there.” Asked what she remembers of Anchorage, Jaymes said the long days and the long nights. But she couldn’t remember in which seasons they come. “Obviously I remember nothing,” she laughs. “Since I don’t know my ass from a hole in the ground.”
Asked an easier question like how’s the fish, Jaymes says, “No bullshit- the fish were excellent. It’s the best fishing ever. If you’re into fishing that’s where you want to go, Alaska, for the Rainbow Trout.” Jaymes says it was her parents’ jobs that eventually moved the family to Arizona. “My father was undercover, a DEA agent. My mother was in insurance.”
Asked if her father brought any of his work home, Jaymes replies, “Ya think? Any baggage? Any reason why I ended up in porn? Let me think.” Jaymes has dredged up some resultant memories. “I don’t even want to go there,” she then says solemnly. “He just shot himself. But did what they do for a living have anything to do with me in porn? My mother was very strict. My father was the very cool one. I can talk because he’s not living any more so he wouldn’t get arrested. He smoked buds but I don’t do any drugs or anything any more. But my dad was the cool one. He used to smoke reefer behind the scenes and all that cool stuff.”
