Porn Valley- I walk into Jerry’s Deli in Woodland Hills Saturday afternoon. Everybody knew the story by now. About this Russian model Iryna Singerman whose remains were found this week in a truck parked at a San Fernando Valley Valley storage center.

The cops are looking for Singerman’s boyfriend Brian Joseph Cullen who’s the prime suspect in her murder. Cullen, who took off for Mexico, was a regular patron at Jerry’s. I met the guy. Everybody knew the guy. Knew that he was creepy. That’s what people were talking about over at Jerry’s Saturday afternoon. That Cullen was 59 and had bucks but was a real creep. Cullen wore a pretty obvious toupee and had a flushed, red face- like a bad skin peel. Cullen was a guy who tried to look young but looked like he ran into a bottle of bleach in the attempt.

The barkeep who served Cullen regularly always talked about how Cullen seemed fidgety and would be looking over his shoulder. Cullen was on parole from a federal rap in the Eighties, so this would make sense. I’d see Cullen do the fidget. The barkeep says Cullen claimed his name was Mark. The cops say Cullen’s alias was Mark Corbett. But the barkeep thought it was strange that Cullen never answered to the name Mark when he’d be addressed.

Cullen, a lot of times would come into the bar with a couple of broads. He’s either be wearing a blazer or a running suit. One waitress told me Cullen was obnoxious around women. Other times when he wasn’t with the broads, Cullen would come in with a kid- introduced him as his son, but the kid looked nothing like him. Cullen would always be ordering the kid the $28 steak from Jerry’s menu. The LA Times says Cullen was last seen with a 14 year-old kid that he adopted in Mexico last year. Must be the same kid, I’m thinking.

Then in walks Skeeter Kerkove- a man who’s not on the lam but lives his days like he is one. Skeeter belly’s up to the bar. Skeeter’s showing me some documents including the results of his recent polygraph test. Skeeter’s also showing me the letter his attorney Carlo Spiga has just written the LAPD’s abused child unit. Spiga’s incensed. Skeeter’s case is a matter of a man being framed for child abuse with both the cops and the Department of Children and Family Services apparently looking the other way.

Spiga’s letter is pointing out obvious discrepancies in the case- the accusation of murder against his client- a bullshit rap because Skeeter’s first wife who was supposed to have been in the same condition as Singerman when last seen, is alive and well. Skeeter was also accused of domestic violence in 2003 but was proven innocent of that charge, Spiga’s letter goes on to say. That’s when Metro contract director Bridgette Kerkove finally admitted to the cops that she lied about Skeeter beating her up. But the cops didn’t act on it.

In his letter, Spiga’s talking about suing both the LAPD and DCFS for slander, libel and malicious prosecution. Spiga singles out Anna Sandberg from DCFS who, according to Spiga, has exhibited prejudicial behavior to Skeeter because of his involvement in the adult industry. In other words, Sandberg is sandbagging Skeeter because he’s a porn director.

Skeeter’s sipping a cup of coffee at Jerry’s bar, shaking his head. He’s being branded a bad dad? He laughs at the idea especially when Metro contract director Kerkove, his estranged spouse, used to book hooking expeditions out of state through Exotica 2000 and would drag their 3 month old daughter along with her. Sandy Torres was the babysitter that would accompany her. Skeeter starts telling me Bridgette hooking stories- how she’d have Johns come over to her house with her 3 month old daughter in the next room. Hey, look, Skeeter is saying- he’s no innocent robebud in this matter, either, that finally he’d take the kid out of the house, just not to have her around. “But I couldn’t believe she was banging a trick in the home,” says Skeeter.

Skeeter also tells me about Metro director Kerkove’s main trick- a doctor in Thousand Oaks who’s a John to many of the porn stars. Skeeter tells me another one- about the time Bridgette got a trick out of the way in Studio City then went to do a Puritan movie where she worked with Trent Tesoro and Mr. Pete. And then there was the time when Bridgette was paid $10,000 to fly out to Philadelphia to meet a porn guy in a hotel room, except the porn guy couldn’t get it up and had to do her with a dildo. Yeah, lots of stories.

But the main story Skeeter’s been telling this week is his sweetheart deal with Gustavo over at Metro and how he’d give kickbacks to Gustavo at a $1,000 a movie; and $500 for Bridgette’s movies. Skeeter would call Gustavo and their code word for these transactions was “coffee”.

“I like my coffee,” Skeeter would say when he called Gustavo. “I like mine, too,” was Gustavo’s reply. The deal was going pretty good. Skeeter hears Gustavo’s driving a brand new Lexus and sporting a Rolex.Then on April 25, with steroid injections in her nose, Metro contract director Kerkove decides this’ll be the day that Skeeter goes down. In fact, according to Skeeter, Kerkove told Audrey Hollander as early as January that Skeeter was going down, that Kerkove was going to take him down.

Foillowing true to her promise, Metro director Kerkove is claiming that Skeeter on April 25 sexually abused their daughter who is now 2 1/2 years old- the same daughter Kerkove took on planes with her to meet tricks. Except Metro director Kerkove didn’t report the sexual abuse incident to police until two days later, April 27. The child was subsequently examined at two hospitals- Northridge and Kaiser with no indications that she was harmed.

Skeeter’s question to this day is why wait. Why didn’t Bridgette Kerkove call the police immediately. Any mother in that situation would. Phone records also show a lot of exchanges between Bridgette Kerkove and Gustavo between April 25 and April 27. Skeeter can only wonder, too, what that was all about.
