New York- Dennis Hof was in New York recently and created a stir when he went to lunch at New York City’s famed Michael’s New York restaurant. Hof’s series Cathouse, which airs on HBO, is creating quite a mainstream media buzz for the Nevada brothel owner.
“I was going to have lunch with George Rush from the Rush and Molloy page at the New York Daily News-it’s a big gossip column.
“I walk into Michael’s where all the heavyweights hang. And there they are waiting for me. The camerman for Diane Sawyer, who did an hour show with me, was there.
“I was asked, ‘Dennis, can we cam you for this lunch?’
“Then it was like everybody wanted to meet me. It was just amazing. Here I am in the sex business in Nevada and here I am having lunch with the giants of the media industry-and I’m the big star. I’m the one they want to meet. From Ann Richards to the people from Viacom to the head of America Media, the company that publishes the National Enquirer and The Globe. All these people want to meet me.
“I met the editor of Men’s Fitness. I met the editor of Us Magazine. All the big dogs wanted to meet me. It was amazing.”
