Carmen Luvana has been in the adult film industry for over four years, starring in movies like Carmen Goes To College, Possession, The Perfect Secretary, Head Master 1 and 2005’s Pirates. Carmen also hosts Reality X: The Search For Adam & Eve, a reality show in which a man and woman vie to win an exclusive adult film contract with Adam & Eve Productions, worth up to $250,000.

Q-1: How did you get started in the adult film industry?

Basically, when I left Puerto Rico, I decided to go to Miami and somebody there approached me about, you know, the business. But the difference with me is that everybody else knew who Jenna [Jameson] was and who Ron [Jeremy] was. I knew nothing about the adult [film] business, I didn’t know who Jenna was, and this guy approached me and told me about it, but he didn’t tell me everything I needed to hear. So then, he told me that he was going to introduce me to a big manager in L.A. and we arranged a three-way conference call, and when I spoke to my current manager, he told me everything I wanted to hear about contracts, money and everything else, so I decided to take a trip to L.A., and I thought if it worked out I would stay and if not I would turn back, and obviously, it turned out pretty good.

Carmen stands at only 5’3″ and her measurements are 34C-24-36. Q-2: Yeah, it turned out pretty damn good… so has your life changed since the Pink Pony [strip club] days in Miami?

Believe it or not, it’s been so much better because when I got into the business, I did not know that I was going to have a contract and do this well. I came with the intention of making a couple of dollars and that was it. I had no idea it was gonna go this good for me. And plus, on a sexual level, I can tell it has gotten a lot better. Being in the business, well, I don’t know if it’s the aging or the business, but the sex has really gotten better.

Okay, let’s get down to it… find out what Carmen prefers when it comes to men’s size, what it takes to get her, and her signature move in bed…

Q-3: Yeah, you sure are good at what you do… so who are your favorite female and male adult film stars to work with?

I do have people that I have worked with that have been great, but to be completely honest, the turn-on for me is being with somebody I haven’t been with before. Like, for instance, I consider myself like a guy in this sense… this is why I’m not in a relationship, if I have been with you, or worked with you more than two or three times, it’s not a great scene, it gets boring after a while because it’s like, I’ve worked with you, it’s almost like having a relationship. I always like to work with men and women I haven’t worked with before. It’s just the excitement of knowing that I haven’t worked with you, just knowing that I haven’t been with you makes me crazy. But personally, I have great scenes with Holly Hollywood and, of course, Jenna, she was so good when I worked with her. Male, I would have to say Tony Tedeschi and Sean Michaels.

Q-4: Yeah, Jenna and Holly getting on top of you sounds pretty good… Now when it comes to relationships, do you find it difficult to maintain one doing what you do?

You know, realistically, I have not had a relationship in the business, but I’m not looking for it. I know it’s extremely difficult because I have learned. I have so many friends that are in relationships and no matter how much the person agrees that they’re okay with it, when feelings start getting involved, it’ll change after that.

Q-5: I guess that’s why most porn stars end up dating people in the business…

The reason why they mainly date people in the business is because some guys outside of it could understand and be like, “I’m okay with you doing this,” but at the same time they’re not so open. Say you’re going to date someone even in the business who’s not a performer, at first he’s gonna tell you, “I’m okay with what you do,” but then later it’s like, “Hey, I love you, I don’t want you to do this any more.” It’s either “don’t do it” or “only do it with girls.” That’s when girls either start going downhill or, you know, because they fall in love, everything kind of goes down for them after that because of the relationship. It’s really hard.

In November 2003, on The Howard Stern Show, Luvana teased her fans with an anal stunt by having Benji (Stern’s assistant) insert a toe into her butt after a game of “Spin the Wheel of Benji.” Q-6: It’s understandable that guys have a hard time accepting that your having sex is just business as usual. That said, give me some dos and don’ts for guys who want to seduce a porn star.

I understand why guys come up to me, but there’s only one word for what a guy needs to seduce me: confidence. Most guys are so intimidated by me that, what happens is that by the time they approach me, they’re kinda nervous and act dorky. When it comes to sex, they end up orgasming too fast, you know, too quick. All you need is to come up to me with confidence, have a great sense of humor and that’s it, because I’m not into looks and I’m being completely honest about this. Most of the time, I don’t date pretty boys. I don’t like ’em. I like a guy who’s more into me and who’s gonna please me than a guy who keeps looking at himself in the mirror when we’re having sex and caring only about his orgasm.

Q-7 Speaking of orgasm, under what circumstances would you fake one?

Most of the time, I will do it in a scene because I have had orgasm on camera, but it’s extremely hard. First of all, because the men wait for me to orgasm, when I’m having sex with a guy, either he has to do oral on me or I have to touch my clitoris while we’re having sex. And because you have to give the camera the right angle, it’s extremely hard to touch yourself because they don’t want the hand there all the time. So it’s extremely hard to [orgasm] on camera. Sometimes the chemistry is so great, like with Holly Hollywood and Sean Michaels, I’ve had great orgasms but realistically, it’s extremely hard.

Another way of faking it, if it was an extremely bad date or I’m having a one-night stand, and I’m with a guy and he’s extremely bad and I’m just trying to come so he could come, I’ll fake it just so I can get it over with. Those are the only two times I’ll fake it.

Q-8: Do you watch your own movies?

I watch my movies, but to criticize myself. I watch it to see what I did wrong, the positions, mainly to see how the dialogue came out if it’s a feature movie, but I can never get off by watching myself, never.

Q-9: Do you have a signature move in bed?

Actually, the only thing I’m very well known for is what I say when I’m about to orgasm, and people have told me that I should trademark it. It’s ay puñeta. Essentially, it’s like saying “oh f*ck” when you’re about to orgasm, but in Spanish. You know, I’m fluent in Spanish, that’s my main language and every time I’m in my scene, it automatically comes out and everybody loves it. Whenever people see me in the [porn] conventions, they just want to hear me say those words.

Q-10: Please tell AskMen.com readers what you think it takes to keep a woman satisfied.

The main thing it takes to keep a woman satisfied is remembering that what it took to get her, you should keep doing it. So let’s say you’re with your girl because you were adventurous together; you had sex in discos, on the beach, you were crazy, whatever the case might have been, keep doing it because that’s reason she got with you. Now if all of that changes, that’s why relationships don’t last, not because we can’t be monogamous, because you can be a fun, monogamous couple, it’s just that you can’t get into the same boring routine afterwards. You can’t be like, oh I was crazy, and now I got her so I can change. No, but that’s what’s gonna make her leave your ass.

Q-11: So now, getting down to sex, what’s more important to you — length or width?

Oh, I think it’s width, definitely, because I have been with guys who are really skinny and it’s really hard for me to orgasm. I need to feel something covering me completely. And believe it or not, although I like big penises, at the same time, if it’s too big, it hurts. No matter how much a girl says she loves ’em big, yeah I love ’em big too, but when it’s too big, it hurts. I’d rather it be thick, it actually gives me stronger orgasms when I’m more fulfilled in there.

Q-12: You’re obviously familiar with Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson; did you see One Night in Paris or Pam and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex video?

They told me [Paris’ movie] sucked, I didn’t see it personally. I’m not really interested in seeing it either. I haven’t seen [Pam and Tommy’s video] either, but that is definitely one I’d like to see because I was told that Tommy Lee is well endowed. That’s hot, so that’s something I’d want to watch.

Q-13: And finally, what’s coming up for Carmen Luvana?

I’m the kind of person that likes to take it easy and step by step. For example, after four years in the business, I finally did my first anal scene [in The Perfect Secretary]. And it’s not because I don’t do it in my personal life, it’s because I don’t like to give it away too quick. So, you’re going to see Carmen doing a lot more anal sex scenes, but at the same time, not too quickly or it becomes boring, obviously. And I only get crazier as time goes on. Also, I’ll be starring in Pirates, the biggest movie of 2005. We filmed it where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean. Everything is shot in HD, we have people who shoot mainstream movies doing the green screen and special effects. It has all the major contract stars that are hot right now, like Jesse James, me, Janine [Lindemulder], so every major contract star is gonna be in this movie, that’s why it’s such a big deal. Adam & Eve and Digital Playground got together to do this one and it’s going to be released in September [2005].
