New Orleans- R&B legend Fats Domino was missing in New Orleans yesterday, several days since he was last heard from, said his longtime agent.
Al Embry said he hadn’t been able to contact Domino – famous for penning the groundbreaking rock ‘n’ roll hits “Blueberry Hill,” and “I’m Walking” – since talking to him by phone on Sunday evening.
The 77-year-old musical visionary, who has rarely made public appearances in recent years, told Embry that he planned to stay at his house in a low-lying part of New Orleans with his wife, Rosemary, and their daughter.
“I hope somebody turns him up, but, as of right now, we haven’t got anybody that knows where he’s at,” said Embry, who has worked with Domino for 28 years. “I would think he might be safe because some body said he was on top of the balcony.”
Domino got out of the house, and was photographed Monday being helped off a boat onto a bridge by New Orleans police. His whereabouts and his wife’s since then are unclear.
