Porn Valley- raVen posts: This letter is straight from the heart. I’m not going to b.s. anyone or make false claims. I’m deeply sorry for the cancellation of the Bikini Brawl charity event this past Saturday and now it’s time for me to tellit straight from my own mouth, me, raVen, the executive producer of Bikini Brawl.
As most of you know Bikini Brawl has been around since 2003. This past February we shot our 1st indoor event at VIP Showgirls. Minus some timing issues the show went over very well and there were no problems with the location. This past August we shot inside again but this time in Arcadia at a different club and yet another it was another successful night. Both locations are very corporate locations and we came to a mutual agreement when it came to a location, legal, filming and liability release contracts. Just how we do with every venue we run. No exceptions and no issues, drama or problems at all.
So now it’s September 2005. A tragic event happened in the south. We put together an event to raise money for the hurricane relief funds. We found a location willing to host this special night. We teamed with Dane Productions and did massive porn and mainstream media blitz. So much to the fact we had the t.v. show Extra, and 3 local news channelswilling to cover the event and that is a small percentage of media that was attending overall. I personally was embarrassed of all the media coverage but very much appreciate it as this was for a good cause and NOT for Bikini Brawl.
The day of the event went like this. Well the night before the show my business partner and our lawyer discussed all legal details with the manager / co-owner. After a 1hr meeting all was well and ready to go. We just had to change 1 name on the location contract which was not a big deal. On the day of the show I arrived at the location at 2:30pm tofind out the location now has an issue with the location contract. They had this contract for over a week and even after going over the contract for 1hr the night before they now claim they had an issue. I hand an extra one available and they flat out denied the contract which was created by 2 lawyers of 2 different strip clubs and our lawyer. So pretty much this is a base contract / agreement that is used everywhere.
I was also told that there was an issue with porn stars being on our show and they wanted to limit the girls on what could be done. I found that very odd seeing I sent the names of our talent the week before the show and they had access to our web site to see what we were all about. Well the manager / co-owner who we were dealing with fora week decided no to talk to me at all when that person arrived. Not hello, fuck you or anything. So I was dealing with a security guard and the other co-owner. I was then given an agreement / release by the location that stated they wanted restrictions in the show and they would want some say over what was shot and what could be used.
I’m sorry but this is a strip club and not my distribution company. Obviously just like every location we have been to, we do not make the location look bad in any way if something didn’t go right. So after calling my business partner (who was in Baltimore for business) and talking to our lawyer I walked outside and called over Annie Cruz, Jack Lawrence, Alana Evans and Trina Michaels to talk. I told them the story and they were very understandable about not shooting at this location.
So with the agreement of my talent, business partner and lawyer, I pulled the event. In my eyes from a legal aspect on my business and personal end and for a comfortable environment for my talent and crew, everyone agreed that this was the right thing to do. It really sucked because this was a charity event, but if my talent and crew would notfeel comfortable doing the show then how am I to let it go on? Now I know a few employees of the location had negative things to say about me and the talent but let them be. I personally will not tell you to never go to this location but I’m sure you know my feeling about that place.
I will also not mention the location by name in this letter but if you know where this was to be held then you know the location. I can not stop the press, talent or crew to say anything they’d like about the location as they all have the right of free speech. What are you to do and how are you to feel when the manager / co-owner tells you every day for 1 week that our location agreement looks good and there are no issues and then 2hrs before the show they change their minds.
I really feel bad that this event could not happen as I’m a strong believer in helping those in need who are suffering from the hurricane. I can say that this show is not cancelled by any means as it is just postponed to a different day and definitely a different location. I really want to thank the press for publishing the info about this event. I also want to thank my crew for their time and a major thanks to Dane Productions, Alana Evans, Annie Cruz, Jack Lawrence, AmberPeach, Trina Michaels, Katie Gold, and Katie Morgan for introducing me to Katie Gold. For those of you who don’t know I come form the mainstream world and for the past 3 years I have been very accepted by the porn world and I personally want to thank everyone I have met on my journey into this industry.
We will present a charity event for the hurricane victims and once everything is written / set in stone the whole world will know when and where it will happen.
Thank you
