WWW- Kate Moss is doing her best to clean up her drug mess.
According to published reports, the supermodel has checked herself into the Meadows Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona to seek treatment for an alleged substance abuse problem. Earlier this month, Moss, 31, was caught on tape “hoovering up” lines of cocaine, according to London’s Daily Mirror, which published the images in a scathing exposé after conducting an underground investigation into Moss’ activities.
Britain’s Sky One has announced plans to air the footage of Moss snorting the drug–reportedly five lines over the course of 45 minutes–as part of an upcoming documentary titled Kate Moss: Fashion Victim?, which will supposedly offer a balanced debate over the role of the media and the fashion industry and examine whether Moss will be able to continue her career.
“The documentary aims to paint an honest picture of the landscape that formed the backdrop to the saga and in a worldwide exclusive, features video footage of the widely-reported incident involving Moss and her self-confessed heroin addict boyfriend, Pete Doherty,” Sky said in a statement. The doc is slated to air on Oct. 3.
The model’s drug use reportedly occurred during a studio recording session for Doherty’s band, Babyshambles.
Since the story broke, Moss has lost a series of high-profile contracts with luxury purveyors such as H&M, Chanel and Burberry. Cosmetics giant Rimmel London announced it was reviewing its contract with the model and Roberto Cavalli distanced himself from her.
Each contract lost is expected to cost Moss over $1 million.
The model released a statement last week in which she stopped short of admitting her drug use, but expressed her regret over the incident.
“I take full responsibility for my actions. I also accept that there are various personal issues that I need to address and have started taking the difficult, yet necessary, steps to resolve them,” Moss said.
“I want to apologize to all of the people I have let down because of my behavior which has reflected badly on my family, friends, co-workers, business associates and others.”
Moss’ model pal, Naomi Campbell, who has admitted to struggling with cocaine use, spoke out in support of Moss from Bogota, Colombia where she was judging a modeling competition.
“Kate Moss is my friend…I think it’s like everybody is being bad to her,” Campbell, 35, told reporters Sunday. “It’s not the first time it has happened in the world…it’s really like a vendetta.”
Meanwhile, Moss’ longtime agent, Sarah Doukas, head of London’s Storm modeling agency, said that the model was “gutted, absolutely devastated” by the drug allegations.
Doukas confirmed that Moss had left England for the time being and may not feel comfortable living there in the future.
“She loves England. But I’m sure she’s feeling concerned about living here again,” Doukas told London’s The Times.
Despite Moss’ troubles, Doukas said the catwalker is close to signing a new contract to represent a luxury perfume.
Moss previously checked herself into rehab back in 1998, claiming she was suffering from “exhaustion.” She later later admitted she’d been hitting the bottle and getting high before hopping on the catwalk, but denied ever indulging in harder substances.
The model is the mother of 3-year-old Lila Grace, her daughter with ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack.
