Pennsylvania- A Beaver County man who was caught secretly videotaping a Cranberry couple having sex pleaded guilty yesterday in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
Brian Hinckley, 25, of Baden, confessed to two charges relating to that incident, as well as to a second incident involving the videotaping of juveniles in Cranberry.
Mr. Hinckley pleaded guilty to two felony counts of videotaping sexual acts, as well as misdemeanor counts of prowling and invasion of privacy.
Assistant District Attorney B.T. Fullerton will recommend a sentence of 7 to 14 months in jail with 120 months probation.
No sentencing date is set because Mr. Hinckley must first undergo assessment as a possible sexual predator.
Several charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea, including harassment, criminal trespass, possessing an instrument of crime and disorderly conduct.
Mr. Hinckley had been arrested Oct. 27, after he was spotted on Woodhollow Drive, videotaping a couple through a window. The homeowner who saw him wasted no time in chasing Mr. Hinckley, not even stopping to put on clothes before beginning his pursuit.
After chasing him through several yards, he knocked him down and held him for authorities, according to Cranberry police.
Police recovered a video recorder, binoculars, black face paint, a head-mounted flashlight, and a camouflage hat and jacket.
After they viewed the videotapes, police filed additional charges against Hinckley. Though police did not describe what was on the tapes, they noted that two juveniles were able to be identified.
Hinckley was scheduled to go on trial on Oct. 17.
