Utah- Utah’s top attorney announced a big-time porn bust that included the shut-down of dozens of websites, showing the sexual exploitation of children.
One hundred and fifty-five sites were targeted around the world. It’s becoming easier to sit at your computer and find pornography on the internet. More disturbing is when that pornography involves children.
The Utah Attorney General’s Office says it has stopped the flow of money into those 155 sites. It’s a team-effort with banks and credit card companies around the globe.
The sites allow people to subscribe using their Visa, Mastercard, or American Express Cards. This task force helped hurt the sites by taking away their ability to process credit cards.
“A lot of these billing sites are overseas which makes it tough for the task force to reach out to them themselves, but the partnership with private industry has allowed them to dry up the flow of money,” said Chris Ahearn, Internet Crimes Task Force.
