TOKYO, JAPAN – Japanese porn’s leading ladies may find their chosen career a lucrative one, but countless more women struggle along in the jizz biz, treated little better than animals for little more than peanuts, according to Shukan Taishu.
“Recently, the best selling adult videos have been the bukkake movies with juice flying everywhere, or S&M flicks,” the editor of a magazine on the AV business tells Shukan Taishu. “The women in these hard core movies are really pushed to the limit, so it’s hard not to feel sorry for them. But it’s because these women are prepared to do what they do that allows the AV industry to come up with the types of movies that guys like.”
Ayu Nagashima is a veteran bit-part adult movie starlet who knows what it’s like to battle through a day’s work covered in sweat and other less pleasant bodily fluids.
“Honestly, it feels like being dumped in some dirty, stinking clag. When one after the other somebody is shooting semen in your mouth or up your nose until your entire face is covered feels absolutely awful,” Nagashima tells Shukan Taishu. “And, when it dries, it gets all sticky.”
Nagashima struggled when first initiated into the world of facials.
“I wanted to try out working in lots of different genre, so went into it (the fist time) with an open mind. When I got to the shoot, it was really dark and there were about 20 soup men (the name given to the industry’s professional ejaculators) standing around silently. Rather than being AV, it was more like an animal being surrounded,” the bit-part starlet, says.
As Nagashima turned her face skyward, the soup men deposited their sour milk on her puss.
“The reek of the semen was so overpowering. Some of the film crew had to rush outside for a breath of fresh air,” she says.
When finally allowed to shower, a different warm liquid began rolling down her face as she cried.
“I was ashamed to be a woman,” she tells Shukan Taishu. “I headed for home and was bawling my eyes out on the train station platform when I saw all the soup men heading in my direction. I thought they were going to get me again, so ran away as fast as I could.”
Eri Misaki also speaks of the humiliation and degradation she puts up with in her chosen line of work.
“For a leading lady, you might take two whole days to make one film, but for us bit-players it’s usually three movies in a day. You might start in the morning filming a groping movie on the trains, spend the day on a fetish shoot and then do an S&M flick at night. It’s a hard schedule, but you’ve got to stick with this to survive,” Misaki tells Shukan Taishu.
Many lesser lights in the S&M movie world collapse through exhaustion. Fear of death is an occupational hazard.
“If you’re being tied up by members of the film crew it could be a bit hot. If you’re hung up by a rope, there’s a chance your limbs could be ripped off, or you could stop breathing,” Misaki says. “With all the filming we have to do, it’s easy to lose concentration, which opens the door to accidents. It is really terrifying.”
Few of the women taking on the unsavory bit parts on offer in the AV world are enrolled with talent agencies. Most find jobs by themselves. They help each other get work and often meet privately.
Considering the relatively poor pay and undoubtedly atrocious conditions, it seems the only thing driving these women to do their work is the same hard-working attitude the Japanese were once famous for.
“The tougher a job is, the more satisfaction you get when you complete it properly,” Satsuki Mochida, who spent one of her recent movies being repeatedly sodomized, says. “If I was just a housewife, I don’t think I’d ever be able to get the same satisfaction out of my job.”
Bukkake specialist Nagashima agrees.
“No matter what the job is, if you don’t give your best, you’d be fired, right? It’s the same for an AV actress,” the veteran supporting player tells Shukan Taishu. “To make sure that guys are going to be turned on by the movies I make, I’ll give my all –whatever the role demands.”
