NYC- New York apparently has more than one foot fetish fiend – and this one does his capers wearing Superman’s cape.

Sean Cumberbatch appeared in Brooklyn Supreme Court yesterday to face charges of attacking three women in Park Slope.

Each incident followed a similar pattern: Cumberbatch allegedly grabbed a woman’s legs, rubbing her feet and then running off with her shoes.

And in the most recent attack, the suspect was wearing a Superman costume.

“I wasn’t scared by the cape, but I was scared that he was holding me against my will in the middle of the street,” victim Lauren Dewey, 24, told the Daily News.

“He lunged at my waist and then went down to my legs and feet. He had such a grip on my ankles,” she said of the terrifying April 13 episode. “He kept holding my feet to his crotch.”

Cumberbatch, 21, is charged with menacing, harassment and attempted grand larceny. A judge yesterday ordered him back to court on May 23, pending a psychiatric evaluation.

Dressed in charcoal slacks and a striped dress shirt, Cumberbatch declined to comment outside court. He has no prior criminal record.

“I saw him in the red cape about two months ago. I agree he’s disturbed, but I doubt he meant to hurt anyone,” said a 20-year-old neighbor in Cumberbatch’s Ocean Ave. apartment building.

Dewey said she had little doubt that Cumberbatch needs help – and needed to be stopped.

“He is clearly getting bolder. … The first two attacks were after dark, but mine was in broad daylight [at 6:30 p.m.],” worried Dewey, who would like to see Cumberbatch placed in a residential program that monitors his behavior. “I must have punched him 10 or 15 times before he let go of me. I was screaming like crazy.”

Driven by “an intense anger,” Dewey turned the tables on her assailant and pursued him barefoot for several blocks down Fifth Ave. At one point during the chase, he turned and threw Dewey’s Old Navy flip-flop sandal back at her.

Cumberbatch was apprehended by passersby, arrested that night and released on $500 bail three days later.

“I’d really like to see him get help,” Dewey, a forensic case manager at an agency that monitors mentally ill offenders, said. “If I hadn’t reacted the way I did, he might have gone on to attack 70 more women.”

Dewey was referring to accused foot-fetish freak Joseph Weir, who has confessed to attacking 70 women in Manhattan.

Weir remains free on bail but is due in court today, where prosecutors are expected to file depositions from alleged victims.
