Strip Club Owner Wants Convicted Felon Brother to Run It

You might also want to add the name of Bobby Cannon who’s name is making the news in Lubbock, Texas these days in connection with a proposed strip club. Cannon’s brother Lawrence wants to open the club and have Bobby, who once ran for mayor of Lubbock and who has been convicted thrice of sex crimes, run it.

Cannon’s been convicted three times in Lubbock county for promotion of prostitution. Once in 1991 and twice in 1994. And under county law, Cannon isn’t eligible to own or operate a sexually oriented business.

According to county documents, Cannon completed probation in December of 2001. Under the county’s ordinance, Cannon can’t own or operate a sexually oriented business until 2006.

Lawrence Cannon is listed as the manager on the strip club application. Right now, Cannon’s application is under appeal.
