Bob from Dane posts: I originally posted this on my space, as the people that read that are genuinely interested at my thoughts, I hope, but now I feel I must share with you. Firstly, there seems to be an interest in helping now. I am getting donations, phone calls, and these must be acknowledged.
DINO BRAVO will be here this week to present a huge check to me. I will take a picture and forward to you. My dear friends at GOALIE, AL SIEGEL, AND ELIZABETH ZEGA came thru last FRIDAY and generously supported MDA.
This weekend, one of the kids I was at camp with passed away. He was 11, and a few people in the industry know him from their trips with me to the hospital. He was the red haired kid who loved football, especially the 49ers.
Joshua loved camp, especially the swimming. I met him when he was 8, and I really cannot remember a time I did not see him smiling. This week, I will attend his funeral, something I have been doing more and more lately. His mom and dad are 2 wonderful people who have an inner strength that is amazing to me.
I am not telling you this to depress you or ask for anything. That will come from you if you are moved by this. I am telling you this because I need to.
Joshua will be laid to rest with a 49er jersey, and a NFL football. I hope this SUNDAY night we can raise a lot of money to help prevent this from occurring in the future. Each person will have a badge on at the telethon with a picture of a child who has MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY. I was to wear a picture of Joshua. Unfortunately, I now have a choice of many other kids who need our help. Thanks for reading this, bob.
