Porn Valley- This week we had chats with Kurt Lockwood and Ashley Blue. Blue won Female Performer of the Year. But our curiosity was piqued as to why, if Blue, also a candidate for Best New Starlet, was considered the best this year among female performers, why the logic wouldn’t then extend to the list of the Best New Starlet contenders. Blue kind of thought about that herself.
Meanwhile Lockwood, who we thought might have been a virtual shoe-in for Best Male Newcomer, didn’t win in that category. But Lockwood seems pretty happy, all the same, that he won a Best Sex Scene award for a film. And one of the positives, at least for Lockwood, was the fact that he got to go up on stage to accept his award, whereas Best Newcomer was read off from a list. At least to him, Lockwood feels that getting a Best Couples Sex Scene award is just as prestigious as the other award, if not more so.
“I hope that people don’t feel I walked away from that evening a loser,” said Lockwood. “One thing I do know is that I’ve gotten a ton of work from what I won. Everybody’s saying that I didn’t win Best Newcomer but nobody’s saying I actually did win something.” Was he robbed? Lockwood supporters, of which there are many, seem to think so. For his part Lockwood, believes that he does better and more work than his competition and leaves it said at that. “I do what I do, but I’m still going to work and do my thing. I’ve always been the underdog.”
Prior to her scheduled spot on Chef Jeff’s show Tuesday night on KSEX, we had a moment or two to share with Ashley Blue while she was having her first beer. “I’m ready to spout shit off!” she laughed. I suggested to Ashley that we should talk when she’s had her third beer for more colorful quotes. “Third beer conversations are always so much better,” we advsied her.
“But I’ve got so much inside it’s ready to spill over,” she replied. We suggested that she let it outside.
“Now Digital Playground’s all mad that I came on KSEX instead,” moaned Ashley. “But at least I was honest. I wasn’t saying like I had a tubular pregnancy and I needed to NOT be on the show! I said the truth. It’s not like I’m going to an abortion right now and it’s going to be on the Internet later! Yeah, I’m going out to Vegas to rescue all the whores that o.d’d.” We told Blue somebody needs to and it might as well be her. “Yeah, like Girlvert going out in a fucking ambulance,” she laughed. “I’d have all the surgical tools.”
Blue said she’s willing, in a heartbeat to promote Cadillac Highway because she likes director Axel Braun. But, as far as Blue’s concerned, she’s not crazy about Digital Playground. At least that’s what she says. “I went on there once and all they want to do is have us take our tops off. And all the e-mails sent were like, ‘Have Devon and Jesse touch asses.’ It was like pointless for me to even be there. I’d like to be in the middle of a Jesse and Devon sandwich any day,” Blue adds with touch of sarcasm.
“I felt I could do more good by spreading it out a little. And I think this [KSEX] show is a little smarter. A little. Like I don’t come out and have lost brain cells.”
On another occasion, Blue said she shot for Digital Playground’s Robbie D at “a sleazy ass motel room.” Blue said she thought she was going to be working on a high end production. “It turns out to be the fuckin’ Motor Inn Lodge on Sepulveda. It was so scandalous. You know one of those days in porn where you’re like, what the fuck am I doing with my life? If my mom knew where I was she’d probably want to come get me.”
Blue said she didn’t expect to win Female Performer of the Year. “This might sound presumptuous but I thought I had a good chance of winning Best New Starlet, but no chance of Best Performer. But now it’s, like, hmm. I don’t think I could think of any award bigger than this. But now, all I have to do is retire before I become a complete drug addict, right?”
Blue said she had a great time at AEE and thinks Jeff Mike from JM Productions and Sandy are very cool. In something that developed almost at the last minute, Blue will also be on Howard Stern Friday to promote another of the Porno Vacations promoted by Scott Stein. Blue said Marc Spiegler put in a good word for her because of all the awards she was up for. “They were going to take Samantha Sterlyng. I was like, dude, they like her on Howard Stern, maybe you should take her, but we’ll see.”
Blue’s understanding is that the guy with the worst hair lip gets to go on the vacation. “I guess we’re going to judge a nasty contest,” she laughed. “I said, look, I’m not sucking this guy’s dick or anything. They said you don’t have to. I don’t even know what a hair lip is. I should look it up.” Blue was told she’ll know one when she sees it. “Great, and this guy’s going to be at the porno vacation. That’s cool. Maybe that’s the best time he’s ever going to have because he has a hair lip.”
We talked a little about the interview Ashley did on Jason Sechrest’s show recently. “Afterwards we tried to go out,” she said. “Me and Jason and Taylor Rain. But we were so late to this club and ended up losing each other. Then I flaked on Jason’s live TV show and he gave me another chance, only because I won an award. Thanks.”
And Blue doubts whether she’ll ever hear from Trent Tesoro again. “My suing him was good closure,” she says. “We were really in love but I guess it goes with the territory to have a fucked-up break up.”
Asked what she does for encores after winning the big one, Blue said, “Retire so I can go sit at my boyfriend’s [Johnny Darko] table next year and he can win awards. But winning this award is a great credential,” she adds. “Hopefully, it’ll rejuvenate me so I can do this another year. But I can’t expect or assume anything beyond the next year.”
