Porn Valley- On his Monday night KSEX show, Wankus announced that he was introducing a new feature on the show via Mikesouth.com. Wankus lauded South’s postings as “provocative.”
“He pushes buttons and doesn’t give a fuck what anybody says,” Wankus stated. “It’s not necessarily bullshit.” According to Wankus, South will post items that others might be afraid to print, even if they have it first.
“He’s 3,000 miles away and doesn’t give a fuck,” said Wankus. “Fuck you. I don’t care who I piss off. Here’s what I’m going to print and that’s the way it is.”
With that as an introduction, Wankus had South on the phone and mentioned that South is always starting shit and has items other people don’t have.
South’s main item was about jessica drake and Wankus agreed it was some “pretty heavy shit.” South also addressed the AVN rumors about it being bought out by Playboy.
“On one level it doesn’t make sense,” said South. “On the other level it makes perfect sense- who can take a highly successful, profitable magazine and just absolutely wreck it better than Playboy? On that level you’re thinkin, yeah, it could be.” According to South he talked to Paul Fishbein and was told the rumors were absolutely, positively not true. Asked if he believed it, South said he put the denial up on his site, but, at the same time talked to Luke Ford.
“Luke said he believes it was sold and the announcement’s coming in two weeks. It’s got everybody wondering. All weekend long I got calls. I even got calls from people who work for AVN: have you heard anything?” Given Ford’s track record for hits and misses, Wankus wondered if Fishbein would lie to South. South said he’s had a good relationship with Luke Ford.
“I think Luke believes his sources on this one,” said South. “Personally, I think his sources are wrong. I talked to Paul Fishbein again today and Paul Fishbein assured me that AVN had not been sold. And no part of AVN has been sold.” South was of the belief, however, that some changes were being made to the magazine but not in personnel.
“He’s trying to broaden his market,” said South, noting that he’s had a good relationship with Fishbein.
“I’ve called Paul on things before and he’s said, yeah, that’s true- can you do me a favor and keep it off the record until I give you a go ahead on it and I’ll let you print it first. Almost always I’ll say I can do that, it’s not a problem. I don’t think Paul would misdirect me.”
South said he also went to other companies to see if they heard anything. For one he talked to Digital Playground who spoke to Fishbein and was also assured that AVN had not been sold. According to South the conspiracy theory would have Xbiz in the middle of the plot, planting the rumors. Wankus said he heard that Xbiz had something big coming up.
On the jessica drake front, South said he’s been working on the story for a couple of weeks.
“The thing that concerns me about this is the legal implications for everybody that’s shot her,” said South. “I got a call probably three weeks ago from somebody who was basically going through their 2257 records and said, look, I’ve come across something that people need to be aware of.” South said he talked to this person and was told they had two different ID’s on drake. South went with the assumption that she had been married to Evan Stone and one of th ID’s could be her maiden name. He was told, no, that these were both U.S. passports.
“They have both different first, middle and last names,” said South. “And they’re both valid at the same time.” Wankus wondered how that could be.
“That’s what got me looking into this,” said South. “When I started contacting people who had shot jessica prior to Wicked, I’ve come up with no fewer than six different identities she has used. Birthdates from ’71, ’74, and ’76. Sometimes the first name matches and the last name’s different. Sometimes none of the names match. Sometimes the first name was changed and the last name was altered a little bit. It’s really freakin’ weird but here’s the big problem. If you have a company like this company did and you have two different ID’s on her with different names and they come in to check your 2257 record, you’ve got a problem.”
Wankus assumed the backlash would be felt for the next couple of months. South said he was very careful to make sure what he posted was correct.
“I’ve got a whole lot more that I haven’t posted because I haven’t been able to verify it,” South continued. “Suffice it to say I have someone who is a friend of mine who is basically pulling background checks on all those known identity, social security numbers, birthdays and everything I have on her. He’s going to try and help me put it all together. That one’s a potential biggie.”
South said he contacted Steve Orenstein at Wicked last week.
“When I told him what I had, he clammed up,” South reported. “I wanted to talk to jessica. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to say, who is this person? Who is this person? How do you think this happened? Apparently jessica does not want to talk to me.”
Wankus wondered if Orenstein didn’t want South posting anything. South had this to say:
“Steve sent me one e-mail and said that Joy King contacted him and said that I sent him an e-mail that he didn’t get it, could I please resend it. I resent it and I never heard back.”
From what he could gather, South believes Sin City is the only company that has a correct ID on drake.
