San Juan Capistrano- Tawny Kitaen Finley, an actress once accused of using high-heeled shoes to pummel her then-husband – former Angels pitcher Chuck Finley – has been charged with possessing 15 grams of cocaine, authorities said Tuesday.
A statement by the Orange County district attorney’s office said that police had found the cocaine on May 21 in the San Juan Capistrano apartment that Finley shares with her two children.
If convicted, Finley, 45, could face up to three years in prison.
It was not immediately clear why police were at the apartment or why there was a delay in filing the charges.
In April 2002, Finley, who has appeared on such television shows as “Hercules” and “America’s Funniest People” as well as in the movie “Bachelor Party” with Tom Hanks, was accused of attacking her husband, then playing for the Cleveland Indians, with her fists and stiletto heels following an argument during dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Irvine.
The case, which was dismissed after she agreed to undergo counseling, became fodder for tabloids nationwide.
The pair have since divorced.
Finley is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 18 at Harbor Justice Center in Laguna Niguel.
