Bears in the Big One Today

WWW- The Chicago Bears and New England Patriots have a combined 16-4 record, yet both have their share of critics. The Bears at 9-1 and Patriots at 7-3 can make their statement as they face in each other Sunday in what looks to be the best game on the board.

Despite outscoring teams by a 28.2-12 margin, many question the Bears because they play in the NFC and their quarterback Rex Grossman does not have a track record of consistency.

They are not the only team accused of being a bit lucky. New England is 0-2 against teams with a winning record, Indianapolis and Denver.

In a strange anomaly, the Patriots are 5-0 on the road, yet just 2-3 at home. The Bears come to town undefeated in their five road games.

In another strange twist, the Patriots will feel like they are on the road, well sort of. The Pats have installed FieldTurf and this is their first home game on it. They are 19-1 with Tom Brady all-time on the fast surface.Credit the Bears. Chicago suffered their first loss of the year on November 5, a 31-13 rout at the hands of the Miami Dolphins.

This came just two weeks after Chicago needed a miracle on Monday Night Football to defeat lowly Arizona by a point in a game in which they had a net yardage disadvantage of 114.

Critics of the Bears schedule became louder, but Chicago has responded with consecutive blowouts at Giants Stadium to the Jets and Giants, each by double digits.

This game opened with the Patriots giving 3 points at +102 and while the opener received two-way action, there was more volume on the Pats.

This was followed by a wave of Bears money, some of which was sharp money. PinnacleSports.com is now seeing heavy two-way action on this game, but there’s still more money on New England suggesting the line might hit 3.5.
