Pitbull Files Suit Against Yocko

NEW YORK – After securing a temporary injunction against Yocko Distributors, Pitbull Productions has filed a lawsuit against Lenny Yocko claiming that the New York distributor allegedly stole and then sold 4,000 of its DVDs.

Pitbull took legal action several weeks ago when it discovered that 4,000 DVDs were missing from its New York New York facilities. At the time it was suspected that two performers were involved with the theft and authorities are looking into those charges.

In alleging unauthorized distribution and sale of the DVDs, Pitbull Productions is seeking $5 million in damages although Yocko claims he didn’t realize he was purchasing stolen goods. Accordin to court documents the retail value of the DVDs is approximately $170,000.

Also named in the federal case are two stores, 14th Street DVD Center and 300 Video & DVD Center, which allegedly sold them in the NY market. 14th Street DVD is alleged to have copied the Pitbull material which secured a trademark infringement claim against them.

Pitbull is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and a jury trial.
