Porn Valley- It sure sounds like Mike Ramone got fired over at AVN. Especially when you read a press release that describes yourself as “previous” and no forwarding address is given.

I’m the one who hired Ramone to begin with. Ramone took Ken Wood’s place when Wood decided to leave after a very brief time in the hot seat because the editorial staff, by and large, decided they didn’t want to cooperate with him. Ramone, the johnny-on-that-spot was a long time AVN reviewer and specialized in S& M and bondage material. His background is court reporting, and apparently he covered the OJ trial.

I remember Ramone keeping a picture of this hot-looking babe on his desk. She looked a lot like Traci Lords and Ramone told me that was his girlfriend. I kind of found that hard to believe. Aside from that, here’s what I don’t get about Ramone. I hired the guy, yet at industry gatherings he’d push for a confrontation in subtle ways. I never had a beef with him. And at the KSEX awards he did the same thing. Only instead of a what the fuh I gave him the booga-booga. Evidently it worked. I’m good with the booga-booga. Believe me.

At the time Ramone took over, the editor’s chair was volatile and sounds like it still is. Dan Miller is being described as quiet and introverted. Quiet and introverted won’t cut it.
