Bob, on the other hand, perhaps not a babe magnet at his age, suffered a mild stroke the first day of the show. He wound up in the hospital but incredible as it might seem, came back for the final day.

“That’s hardcore,” says Arrow’s Robert Interlandi, noting that Bob’s got at least 30 years in the adult business and a military history with the Marines that goes back maybe 40.

“That actually happened,” says Interlandi. “The first day Bob called in sick and said he was throwing up with nausea. Then he collapsed later in the day and went to the hospital. He’s doing better- he’s walking with a walker and said if anyone teases him, he’s going to beat him with the walker. He showed up the last day when they released him from the hospital. He’s a trouper. He came to work the day he got out of the hospital. He’s old school. There’s no stopping this guy.”

With money being raised at the booth on behalf of PAW, Arrow’s mechanical bull got a lot of attention, with monkey see, money do, and one rider attracting the next. Interlandi remembers Sunny Lane kicking off her shoes and climbing on board for a ride. According to Interlandi, some foot fetish girl sees all this and starts sucking Sunny’s toes.

Pretty soon a couple more girls join in. And there’s a fourway toe suck going on until someone from AVN rains on the parade claiming that all of this activity is obscene.

“My dad goes where in the rule book does it say that sucking on toes is obscene? She pulls out the rule book and said, ‘Oh, I guess you’re right.'”

“Gene Simmons also came over and shot some of his reality TV show- part of it was going to be on the bull,” Interlandi adds.

And Legends of Erotica inductees Serena and Minka signed at the booth.

“She [Minka] was huge,” laughs Interlandi. “She was something like a size G or H. I got her on top of the bull. Her tits were so big I thought for sure if I moved the bull just a little bit, she being so top heavy, would fall right off. It took a lot of balls to get up on that thing. With chicks flying off the bull it was hard to concentrate. But we wrote a lot of orders.”

Each days for two hours before the show would close, there’d be a bull riding competition featuring girls in pasties and G-strings. Surprising to hear that, since Vegas tends to enforce some weird morality clause during the week of the AEE event.

“It was packed,” said Interlandi.

To promote its licensing arrangements and costume line, the Arrow booth also featured a girl who was dressed like Debbie Does Dallas; another like Linda Lovelace from Deep Throat.

“And all the stars loved our T-shirts- Dustin Diamond was walking around with 20/20 and I got him on camera thanking us for the T-shirts.”

Interlandi was speculating about doing a Dustin Does Debbie kind of a movie.

“I gave him a card and said if you really want to do it, give me a call. We thought it was pretty funny. But Screech is looking like he wants to be a porn star. He was going to all the parties, walking the show floor and really getting into it.”

Another story that intrigued me was the fact that Interlandi’s father, Paul, brought his mint 1974 yellow Corvette which was displayed on the floor. I had heard some rumblings about a Corvette supposedly being vandalized and its stereo stolen, but Robert Interlandi tells me that didn’t happen to his father’s car and that was the only one on the show floor.

“The guys from PimpMyRide stopped by to check out the car,” notes Interlandi. “They couldn’t believe how well my dad restored the Corvette.”

Taylor Wane, who was also inducted into Legends, had a booth next door to Arrow’s. Wane was a contract girl for the company in the early Nineties.

“When she got inducted into Legends, Ray Pistol brought that up,” Interlandi continues. “And she had great things to say about Arrow. It was just amazing how grateful she was to have been a contract girl from Arrow.”

Interlandi laughs because he was about 11 years old at the time.

“She brought up a lot of things,” he continues. “For instance, that Arrow told her we’re not concerned about boxcover art as much as the movie. We cared about the movie and wanted to make really good movies. She made some of her best like Taylor Wane’s World and Another Dirty Western. Wane’s World was one of my favorite movies back then. It was amazing that she had that kind of admiration for our company and she was directing movies after her first year in the industry- long before other girls started doing that.

“She also talked about how she could do a lot of things with her career because of her experience directing for Arrow. I think it’s cool. She also said that when she made Another Dirty Western, when she took the picture for the boxcover, that’s where she met her husband Laurien. And I had him sign that boxcover, too.
