Porn Valley- On his KSEX show Wednesday night, Wankus brought up the fact that Nicki Hunter, who ued to work for KSEX, was resting in intensive care from a bout with a rare form of cancer,lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma.
According to what Wankus had heard, Hunter’s is a form of cancer that either strikes juveniles or old people. It’s very uncommon for someone her age to have it.
“She’s already got UCLA doctors coming up to study her,” Wankus continued.
“She has a great sense of humor, great attitude, so what she said when she found out that her disease was so rare, do you think they’ll name it after me? She has no idea what her future’s goiung to bring but she’s still fun and positive.”
“She is a positive person,” agreed co-host Sunny Lane. “She has two children and she’s willing to fight. That’s what I’ve always known about her. She’s a fighter. She’s a strong woman. She stands up for herself. She’s a good, good lady. It’s a shame.”
“She’s done some crazy movies and was almost an Extreme contract girl,” Wankus added. Apologetically, Wankus said he kept off the story because he had the suspicion it was one of those crazy porn rumors that circulate.
“Those are how porn rumors go- they get out of control. So I pretty much blew it off. Then I realized this ain’t fucking around.”
Nonetheless Wankus pointed out that porn tragedy also gives rise to opportunists who figure out a way to cash in for their own benefit. That’s why he liked the fact that Josh, Hunter’s husband, put a letter out to the industry requesting that donations be sanctioned through himself.
“She has no insurance,” Wankus noted. “She’s doing chemotherapy. Can you imagine that without insurance? One of the things he wrote that I thought was nice- look, want to help? Book us. You’re going to get good quality work and you’re paying our bills. He’s a pretty good guy.”
Accordingly, Wankus said KSEX was getting involved to help raise money for Hunter as well.
“We have this text messaging contest that we do now,” he said. “Friday night we’re drawing the winner of a trip to KSEX to be a deejay for a day. I figured what we can do when you text message our contest it’s 99 cents a text. “They said we’ll give our half- you give your half.” Wankus said what made this offer more relevant was the fact that this company isn’t even in the porn business.
