LOS ANGELES — Celebutante Kim Kardashian has filed a lawsuit against a company threatening to release a sex tape of her and singer Ray J (aka Brandy’s little brother).

She filed the suit against Vivid Entertainment, asking for unspecified damages, attorney fees and a restraining order, which would prevent the company from releasing the tape public.

In the court papers filed today in Los Angeles, Kardashian (pictured with pal Paris Hilton) says that she and Ray J (whose real name is Willy Ray Norwood Jr.) had been “dating exclusively for several years, videotaped themselves while engaging in sexual relations with each other, with the express understanding and agreement that the videotape was for their own personal enjoyment” and that Kim never intended the video “of her most intimate acts to be made a product of commercial exploitation and mass public distribution.”

According to the lawsuit, Vivid announced in January they had acquired the videotape for $1 million from “an unidentified third party.”

She claims that Vivid is planning to start selling the tape, which they dubbed “Kim Kardashian Superstar” on February 28.

While Kardashian, 26, is known mostly as a Hollywood partygoer, in the lawsuit, she is referred to as “a television host, model, stylist, celebrity, and successful fashion retailer.”

She is also the daughter of attorney Robert Kardashian, who gained fame during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Robert Kardashian died in 2003.
