LOS ANGELES –- – Tristan Taormino is determined to help you improve your sex life, whatever your age. Her distinctive Vivid-Ed line of movies and a new Vivid-Ed website that debuts today, www.vivid-ed.com, represent sex education for a new generation.
“I’ve been lecturing on sex topics for several years all across the country and I think I am in a great position to know what the kind of information today’s sex-positive consumers are looking for,” said Ms. Taormino, an award-winning director for Vivid Entertainment Group. “Along with helping people lose the idea that learning about sex is somehow furtive, I’m hoping to bring some new fun and sensuality into the lives of people of all ages and sexual persuasions.”
The website is free and meant to be a sex education resource that integrates the look and feel of the new Vivid-Ed educational video series she launched earlier this month.
The site features include:
n Sex advice questions from readers and answers from Tristan Taormino;
n Detailed information, photos, and trailers for all Vivid-Ed movies;
n The first-ever calendar of sex education classes all over the U.S. and Canada;
n Vivid-Ed Store with over 50,000 adult products including DVDs and toys
as well as movie reviews and photos;
n Community Forums where readers can share information and chat;
n “Ed-Ex” – an excerpt from a different sex education book each
month;
n List of internet resources including: Professional Organizations; and
n Resources, Sex Information and a list of U.S. Universities with Human Sexuality
Programs
“There are some great things about the site, but one thing I am particularly proud of is the calendar that features sex classes in cities all over North America,” says Taormino. “I don’t think one like it exists anywhere else on the web and it should be a good resource for people everywhere. I am also excited about the Community Forums because they will be a way for me to interact directly with viewers, fans, and people in the sex-positive community. I can’t wait to get their feedback and begin a dialogue about the changing face of sex education.”
Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Anal Sex, the first movie from the Vivid-Ed imprint of Vivid Entertainment, went on sale April 5th. It features Taormino’s innovative workshop with demonstrations by two co-hosts. Couples then show specific techniques, positions and sex toys.
A popular Village Voice columnist, Taormino is also the author of “The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women” which was recently released in a second, revised edition by Cleis Press. A hardcore video adaptation of the book won AVN’s Best Anal-Themed Feature award for 2000 and she also won Best Gonzo at the 2007 AVN Awards for her reality-porn film, Chemistry.
