Dave Cummings writes: Summer is coming to San Diego, and that means lots of thongs and pretty girls will be all over this coastal city. The beaches will be loaded, both with vacationing coeds and recent high school grads, as well as local young ladies who throng to the coast with their tiny thongs.

It’s interesting how those under the legal drinking age of 21 seem to hit the beaches by 10 AM, while the girls who were out nightclubbing and dancing the previous night show up at the beach breakfast places at lunchtime for coffee/fruit/eggs/pastries, and then they hit the sand and the sunbathing thing!

Whereas, most of the year, the Southern California coast is temperate weather for surfing and looking for dolphins, the summer means warmer weather and the OK for the young ladies to break out those thongs. It’s tough jogging/walking near the beach when one’s head is constantly scanning for the thong-wearing girls!

Politics! I’m getting more and more fed up with it. Maybe it’s my age, but perhaps it’s today’s crop of “politicians”. Regular readers of this column often experience my frequent whining about elected officials who let their personal religious beliefs, and/or those of religious fanatics who donate money towards political campaigns and apply pressure upon politicians, inappropriately influence their political actions vis-à-vis that all-important Constitutional line between Church and State.

Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder why we normal Americans don’t begin serious praying to keep Republican Attorney Generals from being anything but agnostics or atheists. These last two political appointees of President Bush seem quite political, and religiously biased. As I look back over the last 5-6 years, I sense that the Department of Justice has much more interest in pursuing lawfully legitimate pornography than it does criminals, terrorists, or those who import criminal child porn—yes, I indeed said “import”!

Studies show that 99+% of child porn originates outside of the United States, yet DOJ and many lawmakers politically target the legitimate and lawful American Film and Internet Entertainment Industry. Someday, and hopefully it’s already starting to be suspected, voters will see that some of their elected and appointed politicians have been scamming them by falsely linking protection of children to legitimate free speech adult entertainment.

Grow up you biased politicians, the American electorate is not deaf or blind to what some of you are doing when you ignore the Church versus State line. Certainly, the courts have dealt many defeats upon those who trample upon the free speech rights of Americans, yet biased/religious politicians continue to thwart the will of the American People and the intents of the

Founding Fathers of this great Nation by continuing to misdirect their efforts and responsibilities. I say, vote out such scumbags; instead, let’s vote in leaders, managers, and people who will honor the Constitution and work for US, not for their own politics, religion, or re-elections. It’s time to honor and cherish the Constitution’s line between Church and State, to insist that officials do what’s right for America; and, to elect citizens who will lead, NOT be political! We want government that’s “FOR” the people, not government BY politicians who seem blind to their real job priorities. Yes, I’m fed up with “politicians”! Politicians should be “serving”, not interfering with American security, rights, and freedoms.
