Thailand [pattayadailynews.com]- Banglamung police arrested a Japanese pornography producer, as well as, Thai and Japanese cast and crew members. The movie was being shot in an abandoned shack adjacent to the beach.
In the early morning of 6 September 2007, Banglamung Superintendent Police Colonel Sarayut Sa-gnuen-pho-khai led Police Major Nit Withinanthagit, an Investigator, along with a team of police officers, in arresting the cast and crew of a Japanese porn movie production, being shot at some abandoned shacks on the beach, next to Tang-Kae Restaurant in Naklua, Chonburi.
When they arrived at the scene, at the old Tawanlang Restaurant, at the beach next to the “Jittaphawan” Temple wall, police observed a number of Thai and Japanese people sitting in front of the four shacks and detained them. Upon searching one of the shacks, police witnessed a Thai man and a Japanese woman being filmed while performing sexual intercourse. They were immediately arrested. Police confiscated various items including three video cameras, loaded with tape, sex toys, porn DVDs, a 119 page movie script, two computer notebooks, health certificates, condoms and other equipment.
Police questioned the director, Mr. Takeshi Matsuo (58), along with the Japanese cast and crew, consisting of eight people. In addition, there were three Thai “actors”, as well.
Mr. Takeshi Matsuo, who spoke fluent Thai, said that he has been living in Thailand for twenty years. He confessed that he was hired by the S.O.D. Company to find a location to shoot a porn movie and to recruit performers. His duties, for which he was paid nine thousand baht per day, also included directing the production. He scouted a suitable location, which consisted of a row of shacks, by the beach, and rented them for fifty thousand baht. The entire Japanese production and “artistic” team had come to Thailand, on tourist visas. Mr. Matsuo also hired three Thai, male performers to engage in sexual intercourse, for the production. They were paid two thousand baht each. The production was about eighty percent completed, when the police came to arrest them.
Police Colonel Sarayut explained that the entire cast and crew of this “artistic” production were arrested and will be charged with producing commercial pornography for distribution. They face up to three years in jail and/or a fine of up to six thousand baht. If the porn had already been distributed, the penalties would have been even more severe.
Update: The Pattaya City Court also ordered investigators to review the files of the eleven people arrested for producing Japanese pornography. The charge of prostitution must be added to the other charges. Prosecution was postponed for two days and bail was not permitted. All the Japanese people, involved in the production of the porn movie, will be deported and blacklisted.
We had previously reported that, in the middle of the night, on 5 September 2007, police arrested a Japanese pornography producer along with eight Japanese cast and crew members, as well as, three Thai actors, at abandoned shacks on the beach, next to Tang-Kae Restaurant in Naklua, Chonburi.
In the latest developments, on 7 September 2007, at 3 PM, Police Lieutenant Somchai Yossombat, Deputy Superintendent, Banglamung, submitted the case file and delivered the eleven people involved in the porn production to the Pattaya Prosecuting Attorney.
They were charged with producing commercial pornography for distribution. Mr. Takeshi Mutsuo, the Japanese producer, seven Japanese cast and crew members, and three Thai actors confessed to being involved in the Japanese porn production. Their lawyer requested bail for all eleven suspects, but it was not granted.
In the meantime, the Office of the Attorney of Pattaya City had reviewed the case file and ordered Police Lieutenant Kunawut Chainual, Investigator, to review it. The charge of prostitution needed to be added to the case. The Pattaya Court allowed the case to be postponed for two days, so that the charges could be added.
