Monday night’s football game between the Eagles and Redskins only made us miss Joe Theismann, a former commentator, that much more.

Like when Charles Barkley got into the booth and Ron Jaworksi [Joe’s replacement], seated next to Tony Cornhusker, or whatever his name is, grinned and made faces like the village idiot. And this is not an exaggeration.

Were Joe there, he could have told us important stuff like the fct that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb needed to get some touchdowns on the board in order for the Birds to have a chance to win. As it stands now, McNabb’s become red zone challenged and the Eagles a field goal offense. Or Joe could have deftly said how McNabb’s got to get the ball in his receivers’ hands more often.

Eagles fans booed McNabb Monday night while coach Andy Reid- responsible for McNabb’s 12 year contract- chose to look at the positives by stating that McNabb was looking like his old self in the fourth quarter.

Yeah, we noticed and didn’t need Theismann to tell us that one.
