SAN DIEGO – The owner of a San Diego strip club tied to a federal corruption probe has agreed to pay $15,000 in penalties and legal costs for violating the city’s advertising ordinances, the city attorney said Monday.

MDG Inc., a Las Vegas company led by Michael D. Galardi, was accused of violating a city code by parking a vehicle advertising his Cheetahs Club in front of the business.

City code bans the parking of advertising vehicles in a location visible from the public rights-of-way, City Attorney Casey Gwinn said. By violating the code, MDG also was accused of engaging in unfair competition.

Under the settlement, MDG did not admit any wrongdoing.

Galardi has admitted to bribing elected officials in Las Vegas and San Diego in an attempt to influence their votes on matters relating to his strip clubs. He has agreed to testify against the officials and is to be sentenced on July 12.
