Springfield, Missouri:Springfield police have arrested a suspect officers say broke into adult novelty stores and stole merchandise.
Police say early Saturday morning, Daniel Edward Ray broke into the stores using either a blunt object or by ramming his car through the front doors.
Prosecutors have charged Ray with three counts of second-degree burglary.
The bandit broke into Victoria’s Palace, 1406 E Sunshine #08-2960; Cosmic Fish, 1437 S Glenstone; and Adam & Eve, 1332 E Republic.
Police later recovered some of the merchandise in a trash bin at Tom Watkins Park.
According to court documents, Ray’s ex-girlfriend recognized him from surveillance video show on television. She told officers Ray called her and told her he was responsible for the break-ins.
While questioning Ray, police say Ray told them he was very high on meth at the time “which causes him to do crazy things that involve sex toys and pornographic material and claimed to be ‘sick in the head.'”
