Sellwood, Oregon- Police say a brother and sister teamed up to steal sex toys and money from a Fantasy Adult Video store in Sellwood three times in the past five weeks, and they were arrested early Wednesday as they drove off after the latest holdup.
The same female employee was working during the three robberies, which occurred between 3 and 5 a.m. on Dec. 24 and Jan. 24, and about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fantasy Adult Video at 8445 S.E. McLoughlin Blvd.
Fawn Amber Lopez, 32, is accused of driving to the store, and Stephen James Lopez, 30, is accused of entering, threatening that he had a gun and directing customers and employees to the back of the store, said Sgt. Brian Schmautz, a Portland Police Bureau spokesman.
Detectives had been conducting surveillance at the store, expecting the robbers would return.
Police got a call from the store at 6:41 a.m. Wednesday and stopped the suspects’ 1985 Toyota eight minutes later, Schmautz said.
Investigators suspect Stephen Lopez was involved in similar holdups at other adult businesses in Clackamas County.
Fawn Lopez was booked into the Justice Center jail on two counts of first-degree robbery. Stephen Lopez faces two counts of first-degree kidnapping and three counts of first-degree robbery.
Stephen Lopez, who has a Gresham address, was convicted in November of possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was given a 60-day jail sentence, placed on two years’ probation and had his driver’s license suspended for one year. He was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol treatment and not to enter any bars or taverns.
