HIGHTSTOWN, NJ/VAN NUYS, CA – With two big 2008 XBIZ Award nominations under his belt (or, shall we say, down his pants), don’t think adult entertainment legend Tom Byron is resting on his ass, waiting for the big show this week!

Nope – this perennial fave and long time performer ain’t sitting on his laurels – he’s out to win (but just acting a bit humble…for now, that is).

Tom is nominated under the “Emerging Studio of the Year” and “Male Performer of the Year” categories. “It’s nice being nominated and all, but winning is better,” says Byron. Tom Byron Pictures are distributed by Evolution Distribution www.evolutiondist.com.

The second installment of his popular MILF series, Seasoned Players, starred Tom himself along with legendary porn superstar Nina Hartley and came out in November, 2007, to much praise (in part celebrated for Hartley’s anal scene and Byron’s rock-hard performances in all four scenes).

However, upon hearing the nomination news, Byron turned into Mr. Modest, saying, “I don’t think Tom Byron Pictures has a shot in hell, to be honest with you. What sucks about being nominated in the Emerging Studio category is that there are some really legitimate contenders. (My competition) did some amazing work right out of the gate, producing movies that were hailed by critics and selling like hotcakes.”

Showing some rare shyness, Byron also said, demurely, “Same with the Male Performer category. Jesus Christ — Manuel Ferrara? Erik Everhard, Tommy Gunn? How do you compete with these guys? Fuck, I’m depressed now!” But ever the optimist, the erstwhile Byron had a simple solution to his XBIZ Award nomination dilemma: “Missy Stone’s coming over to blow me later. Maybe that will make me feel better.”

In addition, Evolution is beyond ecstatic to hear that Matt Zane Productions has also garnered an “Emerging Studio of the Year” nomination. Alt-porn luminary Zane had this to say about the nom: “It’s cool to get recognized. I worked really hard to put Matt Zane Productions on the map this past year. I am sure everyone nominated worked their asses off, but I actually bleed for my movies.” The latest installment of Zane’s ground-breaking series, Tattooed & Tight 3, is scheduled for street release mid-February.

Right now, Zane is currently in production for the second edition of his highly-popular metal series, Radium (hosted by – you guessed it – Tera Wray!). Shooting started last week and Zane is seeking artists at major labels who would like to have their music videos featured on Radium.

The 2008 XBIZ Awards show will take place at The Highlands in Hollywood, California, in the middle of the action-packed (and seminar-heavy) XBIZ Hollywood Conference. The show starts at 8pm next Thursday, February 7, 2008.
