Porn Valley- I meet with The Grand Vizier Sunday afternoon. It’s a mild day, and The Vizier’s smoking a new brand of cigarette. Mildly repelled by the aroma, I ask to see the pack.
“Feete”? I go.
The Vizier, having just had some drama with his cable provider because they didn’t have The Ernest Borgnine Channel, nods, saying he gets them from a cousin in Serbia. The Vizier asks if I’d like to try one.
I tell him, no thanks, that I could get the same effect from lighting up a bowling shoe.
The Vizier says it appears that the anti-LA Direct MySpace page www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=26971 that made the news last week has been yanked or deleted. Then we get to talking about the Keith O’Connor item that appears on LukeIsBack, something about an investigator being on O’Connor’s trail because O’Connor “borrowed a car,” but never returned it.
The Vizier thinks this is a bullshit item, that O’Connor has this unique way of scoring money to buy 10 cars let alone borrow one and not return it.
The Vizier’s also wondering who Kevin Kline’s financial backer is. Kline, who was an agent with LA Direct Models, left LA Direct to start his own agency which he’s calling Type 9.
“Kline was making nine grand a month over at LA Direct,” says The Vizier.
“He walked away from that- he saw a lifestyle that Derek lived. But you know he’s not putting up his own money.”
But the actual purpose of our chat is The Vizier alerting me to a porn story that’s going to break soon and have some major impact. If not on a porn company that’s financially backing the performer-in-question.
“There’s a male porn performer who’s a serial wife beater upper,” the Vizier tells me. While The Vizier wouldn’t give me the guy’s name at first, I guessed it immediately from some of the clues. The Vizier tells me there was this scandal on a big shoot last week and how this guy hit his wife/girlfriend and kicked her off their property.
“Enough people saw it to talk about it,” states The Vizier. “That’s why it’s going to break big. Once the company backing him finds out, they’re running for the hills. No one wants to be connected to spousal abuse. And he’s been bragging about all the publicity he’s going to receive because of that backing.”
I tell The Vizier I’ve seen instances of this guy’s behavior at least twice on shoots, and an additional time how he barked at his woman like a dog one afternoon at Jerry’s Deli in Woodland Hills. Over something very trivial.
“The waitress didn’t know what to make of it,” I tell The Vizier.
According to The Vizier, this guy supposedly brokered some content deal for $40,000 behind his ex partner’s back. But it was the fact that it was the ex partner’s money that financed the content in the first place that makes this bit of business downright shady.
“Besides that,” says The Vizier, “this guy’s a major back stabber- always on the phone talking shit about people.”
