NYC- On the day she was deported, the Brazilian madam tangled up in the Eliot Spitzer sex scandal expressed sympathy for the disgraced governor’s high-priced hooker.
“I feel very sorry for her,” Andreia Schwartz told the Daily News Saturday in an exclusive interview aboard American Airlines Flight 951, en route from New York to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Schwartz had worked at the emperors Club VIP prostitution ring years before Ashley Alexandra Dupre’s rendezvous with Spitzer in a Washington hotel.
Schwartz, 33, quit the emperors Club to launch her own illicit sex service that catered to corporate honchos and wealthy Manhattan men. She spent 18 months behind bars after cops busted the hooker ring.
Before her notorious downfall, Schwartz said she crossed paths several times with Dupre – a runaway from New Jersey who charged Spitzer more than $4,000 for their romp at the Mayflower Hotel on Feb. 13.
“I didn’t really know her that well. I knew her from parties and St. Tropez,” said Schwartz, wearing designer jeans, a floral shirt and white fleece vest. The madam’s arrival at the Sao Paulo International airport, on the same flight as soccer legend Pelé, capped a trying stretch for the Brazilian beauty. She had expected to be deported more than a week ago after her stint in jail.
Instead, she was held in solitary confinement in Bergen County, N.J., and grilled by FBI agents and investigators from the Manhattan district attorney’s office who were probing allegations about corrupt cops and firefighters.
Schwartz’s lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman said she also was questioned about Spitzer and the emperors Club VIP.
Lichtman said investigators tried to get Schwartz to blab by offering her a green card in exchange for information. The brunette bombshell declined.
“We had a tip. We ran it down. It was unsubstantiated,” Manhattan assistant district attorney Dan Castleman said last week when asked why authorities delayed deporting the Madam. “As far as we’re concerned, she can go off to Brazil. God-speed!”
Schwartz’s mother, 48-year-old Elza Dias, told the News that Schwartz “did the right thing” by keeping any incriminating information to herself and returning home.
“She was married for six years with an American and never got a green card. Now I prefer that she stays here for a while,” said Dias, who hasn’t laid eyes on her daughter since she left Brazil in 1994.
“She has to take advantage of this moment and earn money in Brazil.” Dias said her daughter “always sent some money back home.” She also insisted her daughter had no link to Spitzer or any other politicians.
“She never said anything to me about this story of the governor. I was very surprised. I don’t know if she had political clients, but I know that she had many famous clients,” the mom said.
Before stepping off the plane wearing a tight white tank top, glamorous shades and a red-jeweled necklace, Schwartz told the News that the only thing she wanted to do was “relax and take a hot bath.”
