PORN VALLEY, CA – I don’t get it. I simply don’t get it. I don’t understand why so many people in this business are pissed off at Jimmy D [www.simplyjimmyd.com] for doing some public service announcement telling parents to keep their kids away from porn. Why is that wrong?
I mean, this XXXChurch group he’s hangin’ around with isn’t a group I’d choose to go drinkin’ with, but who the fuck am I to tell him what to do? The guy eat, drinks and sleeps porn, he’s not converting and selling us all out. He did a fuckin’ commercial…the same commercial I probably would’ve done had Joan over at the ASACP asked me to. Granted I haven’t seen the thing, but I’m told that all it does is send a message to parents to keep KIDS away from porn. Not adults. From what I’m told, it doesn’t tell adults to stay away from porn, just kids.
I don’t want no kiddies watching porn. The more kids that get caught with the mags, on the sites, watching the late night cable channels….the more fuel Ashcroft and all his buddies have against this industry.
I’m a little hurt Jimmy chose to blast AdultFYI about it, especially with his references connecting this site to KSEX and Adam & Eve. For the record, the three companies are only affiliated through advertising. None of the said companies make decisions based on the others needs. Let’s clear this up, yet AGAIN…Gene is not on the KSEX payroll, he writes about KSEX because there is so much freakin’ content there on a daily basis, it’s a crime to let it go by. Adult reporters who are missing it and not tuning in to the internet broadcast for the nightly impromptu oral intercourse, are just plain stupid and missing out on a lot of soundbytes that could make for entertaining content in their forum. Again…A-FYI, KSEX & A&E are three independent companies that occasionally do business together. Being mad at one for the other is like blaming Andersons Bread Supply when you have a problem with a grocery store that they stock. There’s no relevance.
Now that we cleared that up…where were we…ah yes, the commercials. Umnnn…am I the only one that isn’t bothered by this, in fact, I support it! Your comments: [email protected]
Maybe I’m just missing something.

I honestly could care less. I think this subject is getting way too much print anyway. He did a commercial, so what?!

I’m not at all bothered by it. I have a 17 year old and we talk openly about many things but I still keep all porn away from him! He’s seen an occasional AVN in the house, when it arrives in the mail, but seems very disinterested by it. I don’t leave them even lying around. I do not see any conflict of interest in promoting good values for kids and enjoying porn as adults.
Just because we work in an adult industry and love sex, does not mean we forsake all sense of decency and ethics. I applaud jimmy D for following his conscience. That’s always a good thing. So what if he made the psa with Christians. I have Christian friends at school that know I believe in many things they don’t and vice versa. So what.
What Jimmy and many of us do in trying to get along in this crazy world is focus on the similarities we have with others on certain issues, not the differences, and try to be good parents.
Well, that’s my opinion for what it’s worth.

I think it’s great. Good mainstream press for people in porn is exactly what this industry needs. Don’t bash the guy for giving positive props to the biz!
