NY- A spokesman for former Governor Eliot Spitzer denied a report released today that said he was a longstanding client of another high-end, Manhattan-based prostitution ring busted by the authorities earlier this week.
Today’s New York Post cites law enforcement sources who say financial documents and other evidence found over a year-long investigation show Spitzer regularly patronized Wicked Models.
Spitzer’s spokeswoman told NY1 that the former governor was never a client of this agency.
Prosecutors say the alleged ring leader, 32-year-old Kristin Davis, [pictured] shut down her four websites and tried to move thousands of dollars into a British bank account as authorities closed in on her earlier this week. The judge set Davis’ bail at $2 million, saying she was a flight risk.
Police say residents at Davis’ East 40th Street apartment building tipped authorities off to her alleged prostitution ring, which prosecutors say employed 15 high-priced call girls.
Davis pleaded not guilty during her arraignment on charges of money laundering and promoting prostitution. Her lawyer denies the allegations and says Davis earned her money as a former hedge fund worker.
