Alabama- The mayor of Oakfield describes it as a place where little league baseball is a really big deal. Now residents are dealing with the shock that a former little league treasurer allegedly used little league money to purchase pornography.

There was no answer at Richard Dunlap’s home, and when 7 News called, we were told no comment. Feds allege he used thousands of dollars of Oakfield Alabama little league money, by using their credit card to purchase pornography, and child pornography. The complaint includes an itemized list, which shows the card was apparently used online, at adult video stores, as well as many other places. The feds also say he used the card to pay for a disney trip, to the tune of more than two thousand dollars. All in all, sources saying he spent 30 thousand dollars of little league funds.

“We are disgusted and appalled,” said parent Laurie Nanni.

“Very sad sad for the community, sad for little league. I am sad for that family,” said Mayor Rick Pastecki.

According to the report, agents took computers from his home, and Dunlap resigned as treasurer soon after. That’s when authorities looked at more records and found out where he was allegedly spending little league money. Board members say this happened at a time when they were upgrading the fields.

“We have put in 20, 25 thousand dollars in the facility, so when there is that much money coming in and going, it is hard to track,” said board member Scott Gayton.

They say everyone, including Dunlap, goes through a background check. League officials hoping to recoup the money because they have crime insurance, but clearly that is not the priority right now.

“The money is not that important. The important thing is for the community to know that we are going to have a safe place for their kids to come play,” said board President Eric Klotzbach.

They will play ball this year, and Dunlap is expected in federal Court this friday.
