[Right Pundits.com] Sonny Landham has announced that he is running for the U.S. Senate as the Libertarian candidate from Kentucky. He is an actor who is best known for his role as ‘Billy’ in the movie Predator.

What an interesting story Sonny Landham has! He started out as a porn star, went into main stream movies, has had multiple marriages, served time in prison for making threatening and obscene phone calls to his ex-wife (the conviction was later overturned), made a run for the Governor of Kentucky in 2003 as a Republican and is now running for the U.S. Senate as a Libertarian to represent Kentucky.

He will be running against incumbent and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Mitch McConnell and democratic challenger Bruce Lunsford.

He is the third of the strong men stars in the movie Predator who have gone into politics. His co-stars in that movie included Jesse Ventura who became Governor of Minnesota and Arnold Schwarzenegger who is the current Governor of California. Who would have looked at the stars of that movie and envisioned they were the future statesmen of our country? I certainly didn’t!

He is known for his powerful physique and his straight talk. He says that ‘PC is BS’ and doesn’t hesitate to say what is on his mind in whatever terms he wants.

Sonny Landham Biography:

William M. “Sonny” Landham was born on February 11, 1941 in Canton, Georgia. He is 67-years-old. He is Native American, being a descendant of the Cherokee and Seminole nations. He was raised in a family that valued education. Even though they were hard hit by the depression, they made sure that Sonny was sent to private schools. After high school, he served three years in the Army and then attended Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. After he left Oglethorpe, he went to Los Angeles, California to work in the oil fields. From there he moved into the movie industry.

Landham started his acting career in porn movies. He doesn’t express regret for that, saying there is nothing he can do as it was part of his life. He said he had to make a choice and he chose to get a paycheck and stay alive until he could get his big break. He says he wouldn’t have made the choice if he could go back and change it, but he can’t.

He went on from pornography into main stream movies playing a muscular tough guy in a number of popular movies. He had roles in movies like Predator, 48 Hours and Action Jackson. He has been in 53 movies (post porn) and is best known as ‘Billy’ in Predator.

Landham has had troubles over the years. In 1998 he was convicted of making threatening and obscene telephone calls to his ex-wife during a bitter child custody battle. He served 31 months in federal prison before his conviction was overturned on appeal. He has been in a wheelchair since he was involved in a car accident in Ashland on September 19, 2006.

He is currently a retired actor and lives in Ashland, Kentucky with his fifth wife and three of his four children.
